I have some trouble with that story.

I can seeSaban saying what he did to the press...because he doesn't wash in public
and I think he would have been a "statesman" in talking with Hurts dad, but I don't
think it would affect any decision of his.

I think there ar schools that would take Hurts but I believe the numbers Hurts has compiled
are because of him being surrounded by Bama talent.

He couldn't bring Bama back against Auburn and they benched him vs Georgia.

Going to a team with lesser talent than Bama isn't going to help him.

I wouldn't blame him if he bolted, and he would beat out most teams returning QB,
but he won't be any better

I hope this isn't supposed to be shocking(and not just because Alabama fans have been talking about it all day)

That's the kind of team he would end up at most likely IMO.

don't do this to me dude.

UConn hasn't had any hope in football since that Fiesta Bowl.

Lane Kiffin will probably nab him.

I hope he wins the starting job at Alabama. If he does, it's because he's hit next level in his passing, because the bar is pretty high.

I mean, I have a hard time seeing him getting to be as good as Tua.

He cost you one title with some of the most abysmal QB play i've ever seen in a title game QB (maybe the worst since Florida State's backup QB back in the 98 NCG).

Bama's best pass play, hell the best pass thrown all game, was by a WR. He had WRs open for days, he just couldn't hit them.

Hurts was one half away from throwing away 2 titles.

Eh, I don't blame him for the first. We actually had the lead after he ran for a long TD on our last drive. But I can't deny that if we had better offensive production in the 2nd half, our defense wouldn't have been as tired and we might have done better. But I think we had like a 10pt lead at one time and then lost it, and he got us the lead back again etc.

But I was really expecting and hoping to see him improve last off season and it didn't really happen.

the defense got you that 10 point lead with a strip sack that was like inside the 20, if not the 10. And he couldn't punch it in.

If Tua is so much better, why did it take Saban so long to notice it? This race will be closer than people think.

Tua was a true freshman and Jalen was a returning QB who just took Alabama to the playoffs. Saban also expects the QB to win the team before he starts them, and Jalen did that already the previous year.

It takes time to learn the system/players and shit. But it's always been known that Tua was a much better passer. Everyone could see that.

I don't care who wins, because I know the bar is high for whichever QB does it. But I will admit I'm not a big fan of read option football.

Shouldn't he want to go somewhere where he can win the Heisman because they don't play defense like the Big 12 or where they don't have QB's like the B1G?

Perhaps Hurts might fit well into Jeff Brohm's high powered offense philosophy at Purdue. Purdue's true Freshman QB and early enrollee Jack Plummer out of Arizona could possibly redshirt this season, and be developed gradually over the next couple years if Hurts goes to Purdue. Also, two current Purdue redshirt Freshmen with NFL bloodlines/genetics, Griffin Alstott and Nick Sipe will also be competing for the QB position with the Boilermakers over the next few years.

One thing Hurts has going from him at Alabama is that our new OC is more suited for him and will likely run an offense that has a lot more read option etc.
