It's the year of the comeback. Peavy, Lincecum, 63 year old Rafael Palmeiro.

LOL

As our own Pete Blackburn noted, Palmeiro's likely angling for a comeback in order to go out on his own terms after his unceremonious exit last time around and perhaps reset his Hall of Fame clock. It seems highly unlikely that a guy in his 50s with get a look with a big-league squad, but let's not forget that the Mets exist.

Raffy don't stand a chance with those slow hands.

Unless he's allowed a veteran's exemption to 'roid again.

Maybe hitting never leaves you, but eyesight and quick-twitch muscle memory sure as hell do. I don't see him making any club out of spring training.

The 20 year younger Lincecum is intriguing to me. Yanks are watching his workout today. Lord knows they could use some rotation depth.

I can see him in the orioles system, as a draw, and he gets a late callup for publicity.

it will happen.

big time timmy jim is very intriguing, if he has a fastball.

Free agent Tim Lincecum held his throwing session for scouts Thursday, and sources told FanRag's Jon Heyman that he was throwing 90-93 mph.

He had 25-30 scouts watching him, Heyman reports. It'd be awesome to see Lincecum pull off a successful comeback, but most don't realize just how bad he was in his final four years in San Francisco; white he was OK in 2015 before getting hurt, it's the only time since 2011 that he's been anything close to average. There shouldn't be any expectations here:suds:

I haven't seen any other recent pictures of Lincecum, but wasn't that picture reported to be fake?

Yeah, Lincecum has kind of sucked for about 5 years now. But in that time he was on 2 world series teams and collected $75 Million so I guess we shouldn't feel too sorry for him

If Lincecum was consistently throwing in the low 90s I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Giants uni again. Lincecum's bread and butter has always been his fastball/change up combination. He entered the league with a 97 mph fastball and during his great years throwing around 93. His fastball kept dropping from 90MPH to lows of 88MPH. When his fastball speed crashed he tried using his other pitches to get people out but was too inconsistent with those pitches and he struggled. But if he can get his fastball MPH up again, could be effective

Always liked Palmeiro but yeah this whole comeback is a bit foolhardy on his part. Doubt it gets very far.
