What is the Jaguars chances to beat Pittsburgh again this week?
Im between 25 and 50
Lets not forget the formula for the Jags all season has been to ask very little of Bortles, lean on the defense and Fournette, and its led to 10 wins
I think a very big thing people overlook is the fact that the Jags will be playing with a lotta confidence after curb stomping the Steelers in Pitt this season
IMO that goes a long way, cause its so easy for a young team to be intimidated in this spot by the veteran team, and I think that win is gonna help the mental game for the Jags
With that said
Not going to vote on this one to avoid putting any type of bad mojo on the team.
That aside...I like PIT to cover in this game. The weather reports are for temps in the 20s...definitely a Steeler weather day. The Jags DEF will travel I'm sure, but I don't think they will be quite as good in this weather. The JAX OFC...I think will have even more trouble vs the Steeler D. I don't see the JAX OFC scoring more than one TD.
If Haley is trying to force feed Brown and Bell the ball...it could be a close game, but barring another big negative turnover margin, I don't see JAX winning this game.
Steelers are rested, focused and will destroy this team.
What is the line in this game?
Didn't vote, because "none" isn't an option.
Steelers minus 7.5
Doubtful Roethlisberger throws multiple picks again ... and without turnovers, I don't think the Jags have much of a shot.
25% or less
Let me first just say that I think the Steelers will win too. But how can you say a team that beat another team earlier in the year with the same group of guys at the same location has NO chance of winning again just months later? Especially when they beat them fairly easily. I know it wasn't as bad as the score indicated but it still wasn't exactly down to the wire either.
Vegas insider has PIT -7.5
Trust me...as much as I know the 1st game was somewhat of a perfect storm for JAX...that same group of players that administered that beatdown are coming back. The Steelers OL and OFC will be highly motivated and they need to be.
I would vote 25-50% simply because of that defense but won't vote in this because of the rationale explaining the percentage in the poll.
I think Bortles will be his awful self and that's a given. I'm not sure about Fournette. He didn't look all that good in the WC game to me. Not sure if it's the "rookie wall" or just that the Bills D really shut him down but without him rushing for 125+ yds and giving the D some rest, they will be in a world of trouble.
Imo. the only real shot the Jags have is a complete failure by Pitt and Ben (which I don't see happening twice) or the Jags D is just a monster like the 85-86 Bears or 00 Ravens and they score double digit points or at least, give the offense short fields.
it all hinges on AB and how healthy he is IMO. if hes a decoy, pitts in trouble.
if AB is at least 75% the steelers will roll. win by 14+. if he is just out there for show, its gonna be very close.
Because I don't think Tomlin is an idiot.
Jacksonville scored three points without the aid of turnovers. All their TDs came on or after one of their five picks of Rochambeau. I don't believe for one second that Pittsburgh is going to have Richelieu throw the ball 55 times this week. They win fairly easily if they don't put Rorschach in that situation.
I think AB is more important @ New England, cause Ramsey is really really great, and even a healthy AB probably would get limited somewhat
I think the key will be shutting down Fournette, making sure the Jags finish in the 10-17 point range, cause I definitely think the Steelers find 20 points in this game
How good is the steelers run defense?
25%, fool me once but not twice.
Big Ben will stand tall in this one.
10th overall. Much better than Buffalo's, which was 29th overall in the regular season.
They held Fournette to 3 YPC until he broke the 90 yard TD at the 2 minute warning the last time they played.
40% if only because the Steelers sometimes struggle against teams they shouldn't
None of the Above. I got 40%. Bortles doesnt have to play great he just cant suck it up like he has the last three weeks. The Jags ran on the Steelers last time and that was with Shazier.
Bortles cant have TOs. Conversely Ben can't throw 5 picks
