That's why I made that post. We need to take our time and not knee jerk. We need to give ourselves time to find the right guy. Guys like saban and Meyer don't grow on trees.

that's the bottom line because we damn sure don't a another washed up has been or one completely in over his head.

been there and done that...

Stoops was ahead of the curve when it came to the spread offense and hired great coordinators early on. Now what is required is the next guy that is ahead of the curve. Losing to the worst Texas team in 100 years should be the death nail. How they lost is basically the same way they always lose under Bob and Mike not being able to make adjustments. Texas passed for a total of 50 yards because they suck at passing and basically have a running back playing QB. If a team that one dimensional can beat you, you must have a talent problem. Striker is great at rushing a drop back passer but setting the edge seems to be beyond his capabilities. We have all the specialist that seem to be a product of bad recruitment. Or we just don't know what style we are recruiting. Sick and tired! Won't support the program until they do something different.

The best Head Coach might not be a guy on the radar.
Look at Art Briles. He was an afterthought. But he knows every High School head coach in the State of Texas, can identify what kind of players he needs, has a system, and gets players nobody even knows about because of his contacts. He's kicking ass and nobody can touch them.

Bob chases 5* and 4* guys that don't pan out but looks good on signing day.
Our entire coaching staff is beyond pathetic. Not one position on the entire team that is doing anything All American.

Bob has been losing the recruiting battle for years now.
The next guy's #1 priority is knowing how to recruit the state of Texas.
This won't be an easy job.

If I were Perine and Mixon I'd be transferring the hell out of here with this new Offense.
You can't run out of this offense, especially with the O-line we have.
I'd politely tell Bob that I didn't come here to block 90% of the time, which, by the way, wiffed on numerous times in the Texas game, which I probably would too if my coach fucked me with his new offense.

When Bob hired Lincoln Riley I knew he was looking for a quick fix to his problems.
Have you ever seen an offense with zero motion before the snap???
Now you have. I wonder if Riley thinks it's just too complicated for Mayfield.
Oh, and Mayfield is going to get obliterated running the ball soon. He has heart but no speed at all.

I'm not sure Art Briles would leave Baylor.

My solution, bring back Barry! Don't laugh if Snyder can do it so can Barry. He is a young 78.

Amazing how Jay Norvell kicked our ass isn't it.
Brent Venables kicked our ass in the Bowl Game.

I guess we were under the impression that they weren't doing a good job and needed to be fired.
Ends up that they are excelling at their new schools and the problem was Bob Stoops and Oklahoma.

Hope we don't face Josh Heupel at Utah State or Kevin Wilson at Indiana in a Bowl Game this year.
Pretty sure I know the outcome already.

Here's a post I made on January 12, 2015. We also need to find a coach who can hire decent assistant coaches. We have gone from #1 in the conference to #8 in rushing..........with Perine and Mixon.

Can someone convince me that hiring Lincoln Riley is an improvement over Josh Heupel? Heupel ran some hellacious offenses in a Power 5 conference while at OU, he developed a 3* player into a Heisman winning QB, he played QB on a NC team, etc. You know the things Heupel did. Now Riley is going to come in and win throwing the ball next year and Heupel was castigated for probably getting ready to do the same thing? I wasn't a Heupel fan by any stretch of the imagination but he's 100% just a scapegoat if Riley is his replacement. How is Riley better? ECU played these teams in 2014:

North Carolina Central
South Carolina -- Loss
Virginia Tech
North Carolina
SMU
USF
Connecticut
Temple -- Loss
Cincinnatti -- Loss
Tulane
Tulsa
UCF -- Loss
Florida -- Loss

Heupel lost 5 games too. TCU, Kansas State, Baylor, Okie Jr. and Clemson.

Stoops' press conference was embarrassing. At least he lasted 20 minutes before referencing the 2 year old sugar bowl win. :L

He needs to STFU about the Sugar Bowl. Game didn't mean anything and he acts like it was a NCG. Pitiful..... This is where we are for the foreseeable future. Boycott the games ya'll. If they start seeing empty seats on a Saturday the powers that be will get the message. I usually go to at least one home game a season but not anymore.

People not showing up at the games is asking a lot for someone who has already bought their tickets. The thing that scared the shit out of Texas was people not renewing their season tickets so they didn't waste any money even buying them. That got the AD fired. Unfortunately the only thing that will get Stoops removed at OU is a butt load of losses. Ugly losses. Losses that even he can't bull shit the Oklahoma City, Norman and Tulsa media sycophants out of reporting as a sign that it's time to make a change. I know it goes against everything all of us want to happen but until those losses come often enough and ugly enough we are doomed to live with a 8-4 coach and his Little Bro making coin while the program slowly withers on the vine.

Oh we will have some big losses this season. What do you think Baylor and TCU are gonna do to us? As far as that goes Snyder might take us to task this weekend as well. Not to mention going to OSU at the end of the season. We could have 4-5 losses by the end of the year.

Not unreasonable to think these games are loses based on what we have seen and what we know.
We will lose to any decent team in our Bowl Game.;
That's 6 loses. More than enough to remove Stoops.
Fuck Him and his lifetime job attitude.
He's become Frank Beamer for fuck sakes.
And if you can lose to the worst Texas team ever, I'd be worried about TT, Kansas, and Iowa State.
