That's just because Calipari fielded a team of ineligibles and they choked. Otherwise, they would have been the first.

Here is a question. What happens to all the victories of teams that had "one and dones." You know those guys who stopped going to class in the second semester and the coaches new that they did.
Technically, I suppose they were eligible but realistically the only association they had with the school in that second semester was with B-ball program.

I'm not sure... you'll need to ask LSU because every single "one and done" with the exception of one kid has completed their course work at UK before jumping to the NBA.

I could be wrong but I was under the impression that the majority, if not all the teams involved were Adidas schools.

I have no facts to back that up before anyone asks for a link... I just seem to recall hearing, seeing, or possibly reading something like that.

Since that league is dead and buried, it really doesn't matter.

I don't think anybody thinks of the new Big East as being synonymous with the old Big East other than in name and carrying over a few rivalries.
