Only reason I can think why a recruit wouldn't choose Vandy is if they wanted to go to one of the California baseball schools.

Opinions?

They are the National Champs, so I'd say so.

He hadn't been offered by any California schools. They don't need to go out of state for quality players. His offers are from Tennessee, Middle Tennessee St, Lipscomb, Tallahassee St., Duke, Florida International, Oklahoma St., Southern Mississippi, and Walters St.

About the only California school I've ever noticed that spends much time recruiting out of state is Stanford. They've stolen their share Nebraska kids over the years.

Of those offers, Vandy seems a no-brainer to me. A full ride Vanderbilt edumacation for playing baseball and having scouts in the stands for every game?

Yeah. He's in a good place for quality education and coaching. Vandy baseball's got good momentum going under Corbin.

2003 - lost in CWS semifinals to Rice - Rice became CWS Champions
2004 - CWS runnerups
2005 - CWS Champions
2006 - Regional
2007 - lost in Regional Finals to UC Irvine - UC lost in CWS semifinals to Oregon State(NC)
2008 - lost to Rice in Regional Finals - Rice made it to CWS
2009 - CWS Runnerups to LSU
2010 - lost to TCU in Superregional Finals - TCU lost in CWS semifinals
2011 - CWS
2012 - we sucked
2013 - we sucked
2014 - CWS Semifinals, lost to Vandy

Vanderbilt has played exceptionally well over the past 5 seasons, but I would say they are on the same level as the following programs: North Carolina, Texas, Oregon St, South Carolina, UCLA, Virginia.

I will say that one of the things that recruits pay special attention to that has seemed to have been glossed over are the actual facilities. Vandy's are pretty good, but some of the top tier programs have some amazing facilities. The baseball facilities are basically where the players live when they are not in the classroom or on the field.

I don't follow baseball too closely, but I do consider Vandy one of the top teams in the SEC now. Up there with teams like LSU and South Carolina.

When I was at OU in the late 70s the baseball facilities were mediocre to bad at best. They improved them in the 90s (IIRC) but it still hasn't made OU a consistently good baseball program.

true, but at least OU does have a CWS title to it's name, albeit , 20 years ago.

I'm going to have to say no if the rest of the product you're putting out there is similar to "El Taco" aka Pedro Alvarez... What an embarrassment to you guys. He's terrible.

Totally agree they are on the same level as these other schools you listed. I would consider Vandy as a premier program, but not THE premier program.

How is he an embarrassment? He's a first-round draft pick who's been in the big leagues for 5 seasons and made $10,000,000 already.

Although I was cheering for Texas to win, if that didn't happen I was hoping for Vandy. How many years have they languished in the SEC without winning anything? Yeah I know about the bowling title. But that's not a real title. If anyone deserved a championship it was Vanderbilt.

Must be hard getting the fans fired up for the football season every year with the inevitable results that have always followed.

Should be a 100 million $ talent but instead can't throw a ball to 1st base. Magically placed on the bereavement list today... pretty sure it's to mourn the loss of his job & mind.

I think I'm going to regret this, but what does SFNL mean?
