Of note, I averaged out KenPom, BPI and Sagarin to make the seed list. Also of note, I left all 12-16 seeds as is. This doesn't take into account such things as geography or conference affiliation. Here's how the seeding would have looked had we averaged out the above metrics:
#1 seeds(In Order) - #1 Gonzaga, #2 Villanova, #3 North Carolina, #4 West Virginia
#2 seeds: #5 Kentucky, #6 Louisville, #7 Virginia, #8 Duke
#3 seeds: #9 Kansas, #10 Florida, #11 Wichita State, #12 Purdue
#4 seeds: #13 Oregon, #14 Baylor, #15 SMU, #16 UCLA
#5 seeds: #17 St. Mary's, #18 Iowa State, #19 Florida State, #20 Wisconsin
#6 seeds: #21 Cincinnati, #22 Arizona, #23 Michigan, #24 Notre Dame
#7 seeds: #25 Oklahoma State, #26 Butler, #27 Creighton, #28 Marquette
#8 seeds: #29 Miami, #30 Wake Forest, #31 Kansas State, #32 Indiana
#9 seeds: #33 Minnesota, #34 South Carolina, #35 Xavier, #36 Clemson
#10 seeds: #37 Dayton, #38 Vanderbilt, #39 Rhode Island, #40 Syracuse
#11 seeds: #41 Arkansas, #42 Michigan State, #43 Northwestern/#46 Va. Tech #44 Texas Tech/#45 Maryland
#12 seeds: UNC-Wilmington, Nevada, Middle Tennessee State, Princeton
#13 seeds: ETSU, Vermont, Bucknell, Winthrop
#14 seeds: New Mexico State, Iona, FGCU, Kent State
#15 seeds: Northern Kentucky, North Dakota, Jacksonville State, Troy
#16 seeds: Texas Southern, South Dakota State, NCCU/UC-Davis, Mt. Saint Mary's/New Orleans
Last 4 IN: Northwestern, Texas Tech, Maryland, Va. Tech
First 4 OUT: VCU, Houston, Utah, Seton Hall.
In this example; VCU, Seton Hall, USC and Providence wouldn't have made the field and Indiana, Clemson, Syracuse and Texas Tech would have. Also, as you can see seeding would have been drastically different. I'm not saying one way is better than the other, but this is what it would have looked like.
