During the game last week, a few people thought Rodgers was better. Not I. CP has more yards, TDs, and a better QBR. Yes, Rodgers has less INTs, but I just don't think that gives him the edge overall.

I've watched a few Packers games and I'd much rather have Palmer out there.

They've played the same defenses a bunch of times this year and Palmer has looked better every time. CP shredded the Lions (Rodgers struggled), torched the Bears (this first half has been nothing special so far), torched the Niners (Rodgers wasn't great).

Rodgers also got completely shut down for an entire game by the Broncos, something that has not come close to happening with Palmer in any game.

How many times has Palmer had to check down to his fourth option?

I highly doubt Rodgers would ever get "completely shut down" if he had Larry Fitzgerald as a target

just saying

I guess we won't know. The bigger point in the debate is the Rodgers camp has to make excuses. Valid as some may be...that pretty much says it all.

Well, you seem to be excusing his inferior performance to Palmer statistically and on the field to Rodgers not having his usual arsenal of reliable, elite receivers. So I'm not sure why you take exception to that.

For the record, I'm not saying they aren't good excuses. I actually think they are valid points. I've watched plenty of Pack games and Rodgers has been the victim of plenty of dropped balls.

Too bad palmer is 36 years old, gonna need a new QB in a year or two.

Very true. Can't say I'm worried about 2 years from now though at the moment.

I think he's still got another 2-3 solid years left in him, 3 may be pushing it, but 2 for sure. Gives us time to draft someone to groom under him. I'm not too worried at the moment, our entire core (minus Fitz) is all really young too, we're in terrific shape moving forward.

I think those John Brown drops are going to hurt Palmer with the MVP race. That would have been 2 TDs and another 100 yards or so on the stat line from last night. Perfect passes too...he just uncharacteristically dropped them.

Cam Newton, meanwhile, had a monster game. Brady keeps chugging on. Carson is still in the conversation, but John Brown did him no favors last night!

The MVP race should be between Cam and Palmer imo.

Agreed. Brady getting out of his suspension for cheating should preclude him from consideration.

Pro Football Focus gave MVPalmer their MVP award. For arguably the most analytical site out there, that's a pretty nice honor.

I would say Palmer simply had a better year statistically than Rodgers but that doesn't make him the better QB.

Palmer was better than Rodgers this year. Rodgers isn't even in the MVP conversation this year, and while that may be partly due to injuries with his WRs, it's kind of irrelevant...he's still not in the conversation.

Overall, Rodgers has the better resume over the years, but just talking 2015...MVPalmer.

If there is an award for "Greatest Hail Mary Passer in NFL history" that goes to Rodgers.

I think it's a little premature to say Carr or Bortles won't be winners. They may need new teams, but both have shown sufficient progress to look interesting.

Hoping the Cards can squeeze two more years out of Palmer. They need to start working on a Plan B now and God help us the next attempt at it is better than Logan Thomas.

They could always pursue Osweiler he is a Free agent and has proven to be a decent QB if give a good defense, if Peyton doesn't retire the Broncos might not be super aggressive in trying to keep him.

I would like to see the Cards find a franchise guy but they are extremely hard to find, especially so when you are drafting in the last few picks of each round.

Osweiler is interesting. I'd love to have him on board, but at what cost? I don't know that I've seen enough to feel confident he can be the guy. He played decent for Denver, but that's a team that can win with a bad QB. He seems to be quality every other game.
