Is Isaiah Thomas the closest thing we'll ever see to AI?

This generations closest thing to AI imo, obviously nowhere near as good, but he's bucket getter and at his size it's fun to watch. Doesn't have the athleticism AI had or the handles, but damn this lil guy can ball out.

Averaging 26 PPG, 6 APG, 2 RPG, 2 3PM per game. Him and Bradley are a backcourt on the rise.

He's a better shooter than AI.

The answer was a tough mofo going to the rim.

I'm actually having a hard time coming up with with a comparable comparison for Thomas.

Maybe a shorter, better shooting Norm Nixon?

A Kevin Johnson, sans the crazy hops?

No, those don't fit either.

Bledsoe reminds me of KJ.

IT is a very solid player. Offense is off the charts but his defense remains a liability. He needs a defense that can switch and cover 2 through 4s with ease. He should be our 6 man, once we get that missing 3/4 shooter

IT's story and journey making it in the NBA is a special one

To do what he is doing at 5'9 when no one expected him to make it in the league (last pick in the draft) is pretty astonishing. For every great "short" underdog player story like Nate Robinson, Mugsy Bogues, etc each one of those guys have been role players or fringe starters

IT is THE guy in Boston and putting up 26 ppg. Iverson mentored him over the summer and IT went back in the gym and said 22 ppg wasn't enough, he had to get better, he wanted to approach Iverson's scoring mark. And boy...he's getting close to that already

This is and will always be my favorite all time IT moment

Isaiah will never come off the bench now. He's an all-star averaging 26ppg. He's also very proud, he's either starting for us, or starting somewhere else.

He is a special dude no question. He is a star now. Danny getting him the way he did and the fact he was the last player takin is kind of like the Brady thing.

Still, he really cant guard a 6/3 or larger guard well. I like him off the ball until the last 3 minutes. But in the last 3 minutes I want him fresh and with the ball. Simply no fear

I really like him as a player, one of my favorite players in the league.

Haven't seen him play a lot. Is he as tough as AI? To me, that's what always separated AI from other "little guys" who had similar skills. He was tough enough to go to the hoop, get clobbered and keep coming back at a team. Just would never back down.

If Thomas is tough like that, then yeah, he may very well be the next AI.

He's very tough. He's very confident. Has a bit of a chip on his sboulder, but it hasn't been a negative for him yet. Hes got ice water in his veins too, very clutch.

I have underestimated him this season. Yes, he is still a defensive liability, but even there he has improved some. His offense is just amazing. I think he is better than AI at getting to the line. if he ever had a whiteside or a cousins this league would have a real ESPN highlight every night

Then, I'd say he has a great shot at being the next AI. The little that I've seen him play, he's definitely been fun to watch (despite the ugly ass uniform he wears lol).

I agree with this Thread. He is close to AI.

Kyrie really reminds me more of Iverson and the IT. Thomas might be comparable because of stature, but game-wise, I think Kyrie is the modern day version of him.

I'm glad to see he's doing well. I loved him in college but have been NBA free since '08.

He's unstoppable on offense and easy to abuse on defense.
