If Randy Moss had played for a great coach and with a great QB his whole career Jerry Rice would still be playing at 55 and chasing Randy's records instead of hanging out in gay bars flexing his little faggoty arms in SF.

Moss was more talented, but Rice was the better WR IMO. Moss kinda had a knack for wearing out his welcome everywhere he went. A lot of the blame isn't on coaching and QBs, it's on Moss himself.

yup, absolutely. eras matter.

that hit on gronk should have been a penalty back then, but the league wasnt as crazy about health. i think thats immaterial to this.

gonzalez wasnt a down field threat. he was a guy under 15 yards. gronk is a downfield threat. hes a mismatch for DB's and linebackers.

thats where their games differ IMO. no one can stop gronk downfield unless they hurt him. i dont think the same could be said for tony g.
Players used to tackle, not propel themselves like a missle.

In b4 everyone starts sending old clips of a defender leading with his helmet. Give it a rest, it wasn't near as prevelant as it is today.

Tom Brady literally just came back against the top pass D in the league with Danny Amendola and had greatest comeback of all time in the Super Bowl last year without Gronk.

People dismissing Tom Brady in this equation are absolutely nuts.
On the other hand you can't dismiss a player because of who drafted him. Again almost every greatest of all time anything had someone to throw to him, block for him...

Maybe.............. or maybe Moss just got bored playing with shitty QB,s for shitty coaches on shitty teams. Rice was fortunate to have the 2nd best QB of the SB era followed by another HOFer to carry him.

Moss had a brief run with the greatest QB/coach combo ever at the end of his career, but basically spent the remainder of his career dealing with shit.

Tony Gonzalez and it's not really close . Gronk can't stay on the field . If he turns that around he will have a chance to pass Gonzalez but not close right now

I see it the opposite. Putting up elite season #s with many games not played makes him look more impressive.

Outside of this season, false.
uh huh

"outside of this season" when you JUST said "over the last 3 seasons". i can quote it if youd like.

double digit TD seasons?

gronk 5

graham 3

lets go say, the first 7 years for each. gronk has 9 more TD's. averages almost 3 yards more per catch.

jimmys played in 17 more games...lets call it ONE FULL SEASON. gronk has 185 fewer yards than graham and 9 more TD's over that span of 7 years.

think that over before you reply.

graham has played essentially one more season than gronk, and gronk has 9 more TD's and only 185 fewer yards.

think.

Tony & Shannon are at the top. There is still time for Gronk to pass them.

The "greatest ever" talk will always be subjective but for me, I will always look at TE's as guys that can catch and block. I will never be a big fan of Gonzalez for that reason, despite the obvious greatness receiving. I think Gronk will likely be right there when all is said and done. He has been the best of this generation, I think.

Yeah, better than Graham. Not THAT MUCH better.

Pretty sure I've said that like three fucking times.
