Is Dame Lillard better than Curry?

Obviously Curry has the far superior resume, one that Dame is unlikely to ever best, but damn Dame is nasty.

You all know I love Curry, but Dame is like the slightly younger, more athletic version. He is finally starting to be mentioned among the elite players in the game, and rightly so. Lillard is on the cusp of superstardom IMO.

Dame is a great player, one of the better players in the NBA, but Curry is better. Unfortunately for Portland, they are unable to surround Lillard with better talent and we will look back on his prime years as wasted because the Blazers didn't do more to get him a better supporting cast.

It is interesting, because when it is close, and I believe it is, it often comes down to fit with their respective rosters.

I don't think GS would be better with Lillard, but I don't think Portland would be better with Curry either.

Lillard has never flown under the radar for me, personally. Always regarded him very highly.

1 on 1 I am pretty sure I know who would win. 1 on 1 is not a good way to judge who the better player is though. Curry's mind and team friendly abilities allow him to be in the conversation with the game's best.

Right. PER tells you who has the best overall stat line. Russ had that last season. Coincidentally, MVP usually goes to the best stat line from a top tier team.

Also, what is up with this "Dame is younger" stuff. It's barely a two year age difference. They're both in their primes. It's highly unlikely Lillard gets leaps better than what he is now.

And FWIW, I've always though Dame is good. I've been on here every year in January lobbying for Lillard to get All Star votes. He gets left out because he plays in Portland and people forget they exist. But he's just as much in the top PG class as Curry, Irving, Wall, etc.

But he's not better than Curry.
