David Wright is at Citi Field and says he will play again. It did not sound realistic that he will play this season, though...saying ("do the math"). He also said he will lose about 5 percent mobility because of the fusion surgery, but suggested that would be a non-issue and the neck otherwise should be as good as new. He had a significant rupture to a disk that needed to be removed, as well as fragments that needed to come out.
He continued by adding he did not have a problem with the Mets showing interest in a long-term third baseman, Yulieski Gourriel.
Wright said he will watch home games from the bullpen because he cannot be bumped and is helpless to defend himself in the dugout.

NEW YORK -- Mets right-hander Matt Harvey intends to undergo season-ending surgery to address thoracic outlet syndrome, with the expectation that he will be fully ready for the 2017 season, agent Scott Boras told ESPN.

Dr. Robert Thompson is expected to perform the procedure sometime in the next week in St. Louis.
