They have 72 hours to get with Iowa and reschedule a date they can agree on. Otherwise the Big 10 will re-schedule for them.

They've already declined a Pacers offer to use their facilities.

Hey bud, surgery got rescheduled til next week due to inclement rain/ice/sleet/snowmageddon yesterday. Evidently the hospital didnt want me driving an hour in an ice storm to get my eyeball sliced open. So thats nice of them

Who said that? It was 48 degrees today and we had like 3 inches of snow on the ground prior to that...It rained yesterday but there wasn't much ice.

So I'm not an engineer, so bear with me. But in the four corners of Assembly Hall there is a facing of steel plating that runs basically from each side up until the middle at a mild curve, if you will. The preliminary assessment is that with the snow and ice accumulation, it's settled at the lowest point in that curve in such a magnitude that it essentially popped that bottom plate off and there is about an eight foot by one foot piece of metal, it weighs about 50 pounds, popped off that facing.

Thanks for the link. If six inches of snow (at most) melting throughout the week is causing the roof to fall apart AH is in much worse shape than I thought.

Also the logic for still going through with the women's game is kinda fucked up, well nobody is going to be sitting in that section so they'll be fine...sketchy.

I had the pleasure of being able to play on that court and it was awesome! Though I did think part of it was going to fall on me however.

Looks to me like all they need to do in the short term is get up there with a cherry picker and take those panels down.

They are just cosmetic to cover up the beams in the corners.

I have heard this referred to as a "BEAM" by both ESPN and the Weather Channel now.

It's not a "beam". It's a 8' long x 15" wide flat "panel" that weighed 50 lbs.

Not that it's not a serious issue and it needs to be taken care of, but "beams" are structural in that they hold the building and roof up. A panel is purely cosmetic.

These are "BEAMS". They weigh hundreds of pounds each.
