Like Russell too. The dude does not have nearly the tools many of the younger kids have and yet he still made a decent living in the pros.

Smycek gets a WC. I guess being a nice guy does pay off once in a while.

Hingis playing doubles again. The last women to play who actually had a complete game. If she was a little stronger she could have had a longer singles career, but unfortunately the big girls had no problem bashing her shots.

Great to see Mardy out there today.

Went out in 3 sets though.

Love Indian Wells slightly more than Miami only because I get to see more tennis since Im on the East Coast. I get home in the middle of the day session

Me too. Harrison played decent though. Maybe he finally gets his head out of his ass this year.

Until Harrison commits to working a lot harder off the court, he'll stay in the 80-120 range.

Highly unlikely, bks. It's not a major. ;)

Sock needs to work on fitness even more than Harrison. He's obese fora tennis pro.Yeesh. What a waste of talent.

sorry to keep harping on fitness, but tennis is a game of movement more than anything else right now. it's a problem for a lot of american pros. taylor townsend is obese, period. sock and harrison are lazy, and seem satisfied to be top 100 players.

sloane stephens looks fitter now than she did even in australia, which shows that she's been putting some hard work in. i'm betting she'll see some better results if she keeps it up.

Serena, who never gets emotional before matches, could not hold back her tears when she heard the crowd cheering for her. They were raucous!

She also signed up for on-court coaching, which she NEVER does. She must have thought there might be a need for some support.

So glad to see her back at IW.

Kyrgios is a once in a generation talent.

If he ever chooses to eliminate the stupid "i give up shots" and commit to grinding, he can win majors. that's a big if. it will require a lot of work in his head and off the court.

I see Krygios almost the same way you do. He may be the most talented younger player out there (Although Coric is really good too).

My fear is I see a lot of Nick Almagro in him.
