Did realize that was his MO...I don't take much stock in 1st round leads, but I'm a big Kuch guy so hopefully he can hang on. I must say, I hate that flat swing plane for such a tall guy...but he makes it work.

Well - time for you to eat your words. He did give some give some strokes back down the stretch but did a great job holing out on 18 to win - good for him.

He hung around on Sat. in tough weather and lit it up on Sunday...kudos to Kuch!! IMO, the best Tech boy period even w/o a major.

:suds:

Like the guys demeanor...shows with his "stay cool" style of golf.

Good for him

Love the shots of him and his wife & kids in the clubhouse. It just looked like they were just hanging out & is quite the contrast to some of the high pressure we see in similar situations with others. I don't know how anyone could not like this guy.

Wow. Thought for sure he was going to throw another tournament victory down the toilet with his 3 putt from 4 feet. Good for him to keep his composure and get the W.

Yep. I was just getting ready to post that it was the 71st hole where he choked away the tournament by 3-putting from 4 feet and then he made that lucky shot on 18 to pull it out. Good on him.

Appreciate it (assume that you are not being sarcastic). Call it luck if you like, but we many here have given praise to other golfers for similar "lucky" shots made in the past - it is all part of the game. BTW- really got a kick out of that guy (Thompson I believe) messing up the par 5 by hitting his 2nd shot off a tree resulting in subsequent bad shots - shows that some of these guys are actually human.

Nope. I'm not being sarcastic. I said Kuchar was a chioker and he did not choke so I have to give him credit. Never, ever worried a bit about having to eat my words.

Any time you hole a bunker shot from over 50 feet, though there is a major element of skill involved, you got lucky.
