I think some of these guys like Chris Nelson agree to play on a minor league deal just to stay on the radar. If they can show a little bit of bat, they stand a chance to get snatched up in a DFA deal. Playing ball is better than running a workout club for old guys like me.

I like Nelson Cruz better... Even as a SS. Admiral Nelson might be better, he won't give up the ship. Besides, will Price only go with 11-12 pitchers on the 25 man roster ? He was a pitcher you know...if he goes with just 12, that leaves 13 position players..

Mesoraco, Pena, Votto, Phillips, Cozart, Frazier, Hannahan, Bruce, Hamilton, Ludwick, Heisey, Schumaker, that's 12...and there are no backup SS in this list.

Pitchers: Latos, Cueto, Bailey, Leake, Cingrani, Chapman, Marshall, LeCure, Simon, Parra, Hoover, Ondrusek are 12, and Im sure Im leaving someone out.

Arroyo and Izturis have not been replaced.
So the 25th guy is either a pitcher (not likely) or it's an infielder.
