Does he?

Houston's chances went all to hell as soon as they lost Ariza. Melo is a better offensive player, but he will be attacked defensively. If the Rockets finish in the top half of the league in defensive efficiency this season, D'Antoni deserves COY.

This is so unfair. The Rockets are adding a 10-time all star on a minimum contract. The rich just go richer. I'm not watching the NBA this season. Am I doing it right?

I agree

Without a doubt but Houston style of play fits him better than OKC IMO. I also think he will be out to prove something after that miserable season he had in Oklahoma.

But yeah as you said, their chances went to hell went to hell one Ariza went to Phoenix. Also didn't help to see Mbah a Moute leave either. He was good for them before getting injured

You're right. It's completely broken. The league will be broke by February of next year because I and other fans like me will no longer support this joke of a sport.

Not sure Harden, Paul and Melo can work as a trio, we shall see what happens.

Yeah, who wouldn't want to pay a role player on the wrong side of 30 at $15 million a year??? Ariza single-handedly shot them out of that Game 7. He's the definition of good/not great defender and a good/not great shooter. Plenty of reasons to let him walk.

Maybe Melo should just retire to concentrate on his auto racing venture with Gene Simmons??

"Everyone sucks except the Lakers, Sixers, and Golden State." - @tlance

I think I've found the bitch I want to use my undefeated avi bets record against.

Lakers vs. OKC - If OKC wins more, tlance sports an avatar of HurricaneDij's choice from the day following the end of the 2019 regular season until the end of June. If the Lakers win more, it's vice versa...

And I think you have an idea of what you'd be wearing if you were to lose...And realize I want this one so bad that I'd be rooting for Paul George just to get it done.

Deal?

whats up dude?

Your Pacers are a dark horse to win the East man.

I honestly believe they could do it. They do not deserve to be favorites by any way shape or form- but I do not think there is a team in the East that is head and shoulders better- ESPECIALLY if Turner can ratchet it up a level.

PG- Oladipo
SG- Collison
SF- Evans
PF- Thad Young
C- Turner

that is a helluva lineup

Tucker is much more valuable at this point. Gordon is way more valuable.

Ariza is a good player but hes getting old and kinda choked. He was no better than their 6th best player (Harden, CP, Capela, Gordon, Tucker)

He was a good guy to have- but its hardly John leaving the Beatles.

Yeah, always hard to judge players who are ideal role players and especially aging ones. At some point the Warriors will have a hard call to make with Iguodala and Livingston. I think Liv will be gone next year since his contract isn't fully guaranteed. After that I'm not sure what Iguodala will want to do.

Only problem with the Rockets is that Melo's going to be just a spot up shooter. The reason the Rockets worked so well last year was because the ball was primarily in CP3 or Harden's hands. They cannot run the same offense through Melo. CP3 and Harden are both elite passers for their positions.

Gonna be real interesting to see how this unfolds.

hey...Chris Sheridan said that and I think hes right.

Look at the other teams in the East.

you cannot tell me that any of them are head and shoulders better than:

PG- Collison
SG- Oladipo
SF- Evans
PF- Young
C- Turner

Young is extremely underated. He was a HUGE reason the Pacers went to 7 against the Cavs. He is such an ideal fit in todays game. He plays solid D, and can stretch the floor, pass, switch etc. Oladipo is a legit all star. Collison shot well over 40% from 3. Evans was a GREAT addition- certainly better than any additions the Celtics or Sixers made this offseason. Corey Joseph is one of the best bench guards in the league- if not the best. McDermont is another great shooter they added. Sabonis is a solid young big to bring off the bench.

I mean, Joseph, Sabonis, McDermont, Bogdon, Leaf is a helluva bench.
