Just thought I would mention that Whiteside is leading the league in RPG by over 2 rebounds. That's pretty impressive.

Averaging 18/15/2 in terms of points/rebounds/blocks, which hasn't been done since Moses Malone back in the 80's.

Tristan Kardashian would be the league leader by at least 10 rebounds. But he's not a stat stuffer. - Wiggy

I slightly disagree. Whiteside has more of an impact on the defensive end if you ask me. On offense I agree
I can agree with that. He might be slightly more efficient offensively too. If I had to pick a player for the now, I'd choose Whiteside.

Getting to the point where i'd even have Zubac over Thompson

That is taking it way too far. For a building team like the Lakers, sure. Let's not pretend that Zubac is better now though.

I put Thompson in the Bruce Bowen category. You can't evaluate his impact looking at stats, because his most important contribution is defense (especially on pick and roll).

Thompson is a very good role player. Whiteside is far more than that.

Thompson is about as average as you can get. I posted a stat this last off season how he wouldn't even make the top 50 amongst big men alone in points and rebounds combined.

:pound:

Zubac: 5.9 ppg, 3.9 rebs & .504% in 25 games this year
Thompson: 8.1 ppg, 9.7 rebs & .593% in 58 games this year

I think the Cavs overpaid TT but the #'s don't lie. Thompson's a helluva lot better than Zubac. Maybe in a few years things will change (the kid's only 19) but I'd rather have TT right now.

Whiteside will always be the better scorer and stat-stuffer, that isn't debatable.

Tristan does all the little things and it has more to do with winning games than just putting up stats.

The Per 36 numbers Tristan grabs more offensive rebounds per game than Whiteside. About 4 rebounds per game less. The shot blocking is always going to be advantage Whiteside as well he is 3 inches taller and his wingspan is insane. I don't think anyone is saying TT is better than Whiteside, but TT is perfect for the role of the Cavs. I have said that TT is overpaid, but the little things matter too and that's what he brings. I mean he is making the same amount of money this year than Mozgov....that's a steal
