Sling is the best all around package out right now.

price, no contract, no equipment needed, reasonable choices offered to suit your viewing interests.

only con: local channels can be hit or miss, mostly miss.

Local Channels? ..just get an HD antenna. Especially in NY. The HD quality signal that is broadcast is unbelievable compared to the sling picture quality.

If anything I'm watching is on locally ..I switch the tv to the antenna. If you are are going to use a indoor tv antenna then you may have some issues with some channels come in great but some don't.

You just have to find the right spot to get a good signal for all.

I figured it all out this weekend.

get fire stick or fire box

Turn off in settings where it says "only use apps from Amazon Store" or something like that

download CetusPlay app to your phone

Enter IP address of Fire Stick into CetusPlay app

Go to "App center" in Cetus play... beam Terrarium TV onto your fire stick

    Profit.,

Basically every move or show ever made is on there.

For sports I just go into Reddit /r/Nfl streams and find one with my laptop.. HDMI cable from laptop to TV.. free streaming... there are other ways to do it with Chromecast and shit, but I am not that bright with computer stuff.

    Anybody ever hear of fubo?

    https://www.fubo.tv/welcome/channels

They're advertising during the hockey games, so apparently they're included in that package. I only watch a few channels so something like that might save me some money, even at $45/month.

Spectrum has streaming that I've used a few times. Sports is a little choppy at times. What's a good internet speed to look for if my primary TV source is going to be streaming?

Terrarium there is no "next step" just load it onto Fire stick and it works... KODI is a pain in the ass

The easiest way I found to get Terrarium was to download CetusPlay app...connect phone to house wifi so it recognizes the TV then go to "app center" and beam it to Fire stick. I tried using Fire2TV but all the versions of Terrarium on the play store sucked and had a lot of ads. The one on CetusPlay app center was pretty clean with minimal ads, and the CetusPlay app also lets you use your phone as fire stick app so you can search titles using keyboard

Might not be the best time to be recommending terrarium. Apparently the developer shut down the website and is "taking a break" to contemplate whether to continue with any further development. Wants to avoid any "potential legal issues."

I see no reason to stop using it.
This is like when MP3s were big and Napster got shut down. 3 more turned up in it's place.

Don't make it too hard, literally all of them offer a free week trial. Try them all and pick the one you like.

If I'm being honest watching commercials is excruciating after cutting the cord for so long. I don't know if this will last more than the trial period.

I always heard rumors that people had and I always thought it was a scare tactic to stop people from illegally downloading music.

I was in college, so it was the peak of illegal music downloading. I was just given a high speed internet connection, so of course I was all about it.

Anyone try FUBO yet? Lots of sports channels, no ESPN, and has movies, TV, etc.

Not as good as Sling IMO
