The #1 pick that year was possibly the biggest bust of all, honorable mention to Brien Taylor and Matt Bush

I think I said a year or two ago I considered Ball a bust as a pitcher. I don't understand why the Sox don't see what he can do at the plate. Ball was pretty highly regarded as a hitter coming into the draft and some scouts felt he was a better hitting prospect than a pitching prospect. He's moved to the pen, but his peripherals haven't really gotten much better (K's are up a bit, but he still has a 4+ BB/9 and he's getting hit hard).

The Red Sox should see if Trey Ball can still hit

Without looking it up my first thought is Mark Appel?

Appel, though Kohl Stewart isn't looking like a great pick either. It's hard to envision him as an MLB starting pitcher at this point. Right now the best picks in the 1st round are Bryant and Judge. Jon Gray and Manaea have looked solid though Gray would probably benefit from moving to another ballpark.

12.05 ERA in his last 18.2 innings. 40 hits allowed. Just fucking convert him already, he can't be any worse as a hitter.
