Where would the cfp committee make Bama play the semi against TCU? And why?

Unless I'm mistaken, would the answer be Rose as Cotton is basically TCU's home?

So, I assuming one would have to believe that TCU runs the table including a CCG win over the dirt burglers in Jerry's World AND Bama wins out?

It is looking a lot more likely that TCU or Bama could both be left out of the playoffs. Both seem to be leaking a little oil coming in for the final pit stop.

Either one is awesome to me.

When they first built Jerry World, for a time there Alabama had more wins in it than the Cowboys did.

And the Rose Bowl Alabama usually wins when we play there. It's in our fight song and Alabama has more Rose Bowl wins than any non-Big10/Pac12 team and more Rose Bowl wins than more than half those teams.

So, if we make the playoffs, it doesn't matter. The only place I don't want to play is the Sugar Bowl. Mixed results there for some reason. Which is funny, because growing up that was the bowl that mattered.

Plus, I think people are stupid when they think there is some advantage because of distance to a game. It's a neutral site, distance is about the fans, not about the teams.

I think this is completely hypothetical as the Cotton is not one of the semis this year

Distance to a playoff game and the amount of fans has little correlation at the playoff level.

Having gone to last year's National Championship game in Tampa, I was shocked to see Clemson outnumber Bama fans by a wide margin. A buddy of mine went to the previous years in AZ and he said it was the same there.

Oh shit. You are right. My bad.

The confusion is understandable as one would think that during the season threads would stick to talking about the current season.

Well. The title literally states ‘HYPO,’ so maybe the confusion is because you’re a dunce.

Maybe it's because your team sucks so you are making offseason threads in the peak of the college football season?

They've even won more rose bowls than a lot of Pac 12 or big 10 teams. Like Oregon. :dhd:

Its ok. If I was a Texas fan, I'd be making offseason threads too

Make a smart coaching hire and get better already!

funny thing though. what if Frosty gets to big time and falls flat on his face like Tom Herman did.

There is risk to any coaching hire. It is very hard to find a sure thing. (Ohio State got very lucky with the timing of Tatgate and Meyer's availability) Frost looks the part and I wouldn't fault Nebraska if it didn't work out with him. Unfortunately, sometimes thats college football.

I still think Herman has a good chance to turn Texas around.
