He will never go away, someone in say; Denmark will stir up the commotion, his suit against the NFL will take years to wind thru the courts, and he really hasn't started the talk show circuit yet.

My question is" If he was so great, why did SF let him go?, they seemed OK with his antics, and locker room presence."

Same question applies to Eric Reid.

Kaepernick's arguments to complain about not getting signed had zero credibility from the start. He was originally signed with San Fransisco through 2020, but restructured his contract so he had the option to opt out in 2017. Then he made the decision to opt out of his contract that year early.

Combined the fact that he made that decision himself along with his baggage and backup level talent, and he really has no arguement to complain. Had he waited for San Fran to cut him, he might have a slight point, but still not much since he wasn't worth the $14.5 million he was scheduled to make in 2017.

The only way we would stop hearing about Kaep is if a team signed him, let him stink up the joint in a nationally televised game, and then cut him. Because then everyone would remember he is not very good at football.

That said, I do think he is better than some NFL backups right now. The Texans last year started Tom Savage and yes, had TJ Yates on the roster.

This year their backup is Brandon Weeden. I think Kaepernick is better than Brandon Weeden. But he knelt! OMG!

Kap had a contract in his hands until his idiot GF screwed that up. Sadly, the media will follow him around 24/7 whether he produces on the field or sucks worse then Jamarcus Russell. This situation isn't going to go away for a long while.

Until after Trump is re-elected. The dumbass Democrats and insidious kosher media will trot him out there at least that long.

I'd say at least a couple of those, yes. Let's face it, drafting QB's from now on is gonna be like roulette, as to which ones can make the transition from spread-n-run to pocket passers. I think it's one of the great challenges facing NFL's viewership, too, when Brady, Ben, AR-12 leave the game. I think they already took a hit when Manning retired.

I forgot to include DeShaun Watson. Some of these guys will grow into the role, but more often than not that growth will be minimal.

At this point I don't think people are thinking Kaep is that great, only that he is better than some of the backups that are in this league. As to him and Reid, it doesn't have to do with their protests. Shanahan does not want running spread QB's period. It is not a coincidence he passed on QBs like Watson in the draft. They still want Eric Reid back and offered him a contract, just not what he wants. The 49ers last year preferred Tartt at Reid's position and started Tartt until he got hurt. It isn't about Reid's protest, it isn't a position where they need to spend money right now.

It will stay in the news as long as Kaep is fighting the league and he still is looking for a jb.

Option 1. I think he'll sign with a team in the 2018 off season.

the year will be 2060. Kapernick will be 70 years old and he will still be wanting a job in the NFL and the sports media will still be talking about him ....
