According to Rivals Recruiting Classes, these are USC's rankings:

2015: #1 (next closest Pac 12 team: UCLA #13)
2014: #10 (Stanford #14)
2013: #13 (UCLA #8)
2012: #8 (Stanford #5)
In case of Redshirts:
2011: #4 (#9 Oregon)

It seems like they should have a LEGIT team with those classes. I would have thought they would have turned a corner this year, and returned to dominance of the Pac 12 again. :noidea:

Probably b/c the Pac is a tough as he'll conference now. It's no longer a weak as hell, one team conference the way it was when Carroll was there.

3 of those seasons were when we were only allowed to bring in 15 recruits. The rankings were based on stars, not number of recruits. When you factor in guys leaving for the NFL after 3 seasons, they were behind the numbers every year. This means that while we are very talented, we are also very young and that usually means inconsistency.

Add to that the fact that the PAC is the strongest it's ever been and this is what you get.

Next year, imo, will be the real test. We will be bringing back a lot of guys and even though Kessler will be gone, word is that Browne is ready to go right now.

I'm not too worried about this year as I expected 10-2 at best. If this is still going on next year though, then I'll be calling for Sarks head.

Is the Pac really that strong this year? Seems more balanced but not real strong.

Still considered a top 3 conference. There might not be a great team but there are 7-8 good teams. The more good teams that exsist in a conference the likelihood that it will be difficult to go undefeated.
