Florida State #5 in the country beat Xavier 11-1.

Holton had a decent outing for the first game of the year. 5 innings...1 hit...6 k's.
He threw 66 pitches which isn't real bad for the 1st game. Didn't walk anybody
but had a lot of 5 or 6 pitch hitters.

3 other pitchers each gave up 1 hit apiece. Cobi Johnson saw the field for the first
time in two years. Worked the final two innings. Faced 7 batters...k'd 4 of them.
He has serious heat, just never had any control on his breaking stuff. He'd be a bonus
if he can close for us. We return our entire w/e rotation.

Hit the ball well. 13 hits. 11 runs but stranded 14 runners. Xavier was a playoff team from
the Big East last year. 'Bout what you would figure, for folks from Cincy where they don't get
outdoors all that much early in the season.

Parrish today and Sands on Sunday. Sands had been our Fri starter last year until Holton
took his spot late in the year. He has a 95 mph fast ball, but struggles with the breaking
ball. If he can gt that across this year...he could be tough.

We won Saturday 7-2.

We pitched Sands today and will throw Parrish tomm.

Sands had a decent outing. He gave up 2 hits and 2 runs in the 1st then settled down
He k'd 10 in 5 innings and didn't walk anybody. Gave up 3 hits. 80 pitches though.
For 5 innings that's too many...need to be in the 60's. New kid, Pollock pitched the
final 4 innings. Didn't walk anybody and k's 5. Scattered 3 hits.

We could have hit the ball better. But it was still a solid win. We go for the sweep
tomm at 1.

Terrible. UCONN lost 7-3 to Kennesaw State. They rebounded nicely today winning 10-1 over Georgia State. The Huskies play Georgia Tech tomorrow afternoon.

Quick turnaround rematch at 5pm central with UC Riverside who they beat (8-3) yesterday.

Offensively...they had 14 hits and 2 walks for 16 Baserunners.
We had 25 Hits, 26 Walks and they hit 5 for 56 Baserunners. That's pretty lopsided.

We play again Tuesday, at home, vs USF who went 1-2 vs UNC this weekend.

UCONN defeats Georgia Tech 9-7 in 10 innings to improve their record to 2-1. The Huskies head to Louisiana on Friday to take on SE Louisiana for a 3-game series.

Didn't hit the ball well at all. Only 5 hits...but 12 walks. Stranded 13.

Pitched OK...Mid-week starter and our pen fanned 12. Did walk 6 however.

Oh well...UNC-Asheville comes to town on Friday.

Oh yeah...Game was closer than the score makes it seem.

It was 1-1 going into the 8th. We plated 4 that inning. Gave up a run in the 9th
and they had the tying run at the plate,
