So you can't spike it? That changes the game.
Yep. Shortens it too.
So you can't spike it? That changes the game.
These games are lasting as long (if not longer) then most Yankees/Red Sox games.
The National Title game which did not go to OT took 4 hours and 8 minutes. That is insane
How would you correct this issue?
My first suggestion would be to cut out stopping the clock anytime there is a first down except for maybe in the last 2 minutes of the 1st and 2nd half. Thoughts?
The 1 and only thing I want changed is the hour and a half half time. Can't fuckin drink slow enough to accommodate half time and a full second half. I elect reduce half time
Given the average clock stoppage of 6 seconds for a 1st down, the total time spent positioning the football after a 1st down was less than 5 minutes. Even with a 15 second delay, which is not realistic, you're looking at a total of less than 12 minutes. I'd rather watch that than all the damn commercials, which on average, takes up close to 45 minutes of airtime. But without it, some of these programs wouldn't be able to afford to keep playing. If they want to reduce the time it takes to play a game, go to 12 minute quarters.47 first downs in the national title game. That mean the clock was stopped 47 times for nonsense. Length of game is cut down significantly without the stoppage for every single first down.
