I saw on the news a couple days ago that despite the fact that a person's identity can be stolen over the internet these days, most cases of identity theft still involve people physically stealing identities. So people still need to pay attention to their surroundings when they're out with their wallets/purses and keep those things secure to their person and make sure that any important documents they might be getting rid of aren't just loosely recycled or thrown away (or even wadded up for that matter), but shredded before being recycled. I think there are shredders that basically turn any document fed through it into confetti and I think that would be the best way to go. If wannabe ID thieves wanna steal your identity, they're gonna have to really work at it.
