What happened to week 4? It got slammered at TOTS before exams. That's what. On to week 5.

12/14 VT vs Alabama A&M @ 3pmEST (online)

12/20 VT vs The Citadel @ 1pmEST (online)

A pretty light load coming out of the off week. While its possible we may have another one of those learning experience losses like App ST, we should win both of these games. These two games and the games against VMI and Presbyterian in week 6 will be our last games against sub-par, non power 5 competition so hopefully we can use them to polish things over, win them, and head into the new year playing some good ball against our ACC schedule (there's a game against WVU before it starts too).

Wilson and JVZ get in trouble or is this just a game where Buzz figured he could reward some others for their effort and still win?

Definitely not in trouble. Probably just trying to send a message. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Asked <a href="">December 14, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script><blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="">December 14, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Figured as much. It was definitely a weird thing to see and certainly wasn't expecting it. Buzz was obviously sending a message to his team. With an opponent like Alabama A&M, its a good time to do it. But man, it was still nerve racking seeing all those guys on the bench with A&M having the lead in the 1st half or when they cut the lead to like 6 or 7 in the 2nd half. It was nice to see Beyer have a good game though. Maybe this will be a launching pad for more minutes.

I've had so much going on recently that I haven't been able to follow the team. I do check out these threads, so thanks for you contributors. From the bits that I have heard and read, its the typical first year of a major rebuild. There are often lots of learning moments, but I'm excited for the upcoming start of ACC play.

Go Hokies!

JVZ is just horrible, but there is no excuse for the guards to be this bad.

yeah... Smith, Muller, and Hudson are the ones that stand out there. It's early and those are small sample sizes, but they need to get those numbers up. Especially a veteran like Smith.

Down 27-22 at the half to Citadel. 21 of their 27 points are from 3. They're 7/12 from downtown.

I'm less concerned with Citadel's 27 than our 22... How do we only score 22 in a half against Citadel?

I can't imagine Buzz being too happy right now. It looked like pretty lazy effort out there today for the most part. I'm just glad the guys woke up in time to get the win
