Also of note, 50 ballots by 12/15 is ahead of the pace last year where there were 42 by this time. Last year there were over 100 ballots tallied between now and the end of the year.
Holy shit, this is still how they do the voting? That's insane. Mail all the eligible voters a code and have them do it online over a 3 day period. If they are too busy to log in and vote then that is their problem.

How did you get these values? And how do you figure Bonds has a higher chance than Clemens even though in the published ballots, Clemens is doing better in new voters, lost votes and gained votes?
You'll have to ask this guy.

Edgar gained another vote last night. In addition, Jon Heyman is one of the lost votes for Edgar, and he said he would vote for Edgar if there was no 10-man limit. So presumably he will vote for Edgar next year on his final ballot. I still think this year is a long shot for him to get in, but the odds are increasing. I predicted he would get in on his final ballot and that is looking more and more likely.

Will either Clemens or Bonds make it I wonder? I think 1 of them will. I think you'll see a 5 person class this year: Chipper, Thome, Vlad, Edgar and one of Clemens/Bonds

Absolute travesty if only one of Bonds/Clemens makes it. Both should make it or both should fall short.

They won't get in this year, but if they get over 60% it's a good step. And I'm just passing on the information, Ryan Thibodaux, @NotMrTibbs, does a great job keeping track.

Don’t mean much.

Someone also voted for Damon...
Here was the Damon reasoning:

Johnny Damon: He’ll never get in, but the guy thrilled many of us during those magical Red Sox-Yankees battles when the Theo Epstein-led Sox were emerging from their Cubs-like title drought. In 2002, Damon led the American League in triples. In 2004, he was second in the AL in runs scored. He sported wild hair and a lumberjack beard years before the latter became fashionable. I dug it.

No mention of his clear best season, 2000

This guy must be so excited to vote for Carl Crawford.

Notable. At the end of the day on 12/27 last year, there were 120 ballots in the tracker. Only at 112 as of now, but there were 25 fewer ballots sent out this year apparently. We know of 3 guys who have given up their ballot this year, 3 others who are abstaining, and 7 who are no longer eligible. Out of those 13, we know 8 ballots from 2017 that won't be voting this year. There are also 8 newcomer ballots that are known, so we can kinda see how many votes gained a player had from one voter dropping off and another being added.

Votes lost, votes from newcomers, netted votes:
Clemens: +7 (1 vote lost, 8 newcomers)
Bonds: +6 (1 vote lost, 7 newcomers)
Sosa: +4 (0 votes lost, 4 newcomers)
Schilling: +3 (3 votes lost, 6 newcomers)
Manny: +2 (1 vote lost, 3 newcomers)
Mussina: +1 (5 votes lost, 6 newcomers)
Guerrero: 0 (8 votes lost, 8 newcomers)
Edgar: 0 (6 votes lost, 6 newcomers)
Hoffman: 0 (7 votes lost, 7 newcomers)
Walker: 0 (2 votes lost, 2 newcomers)
Sheffield: -1 (2 votes lost, 1 newcomer)
Kent: -1 (1 vote lost, 0 newcomers)
Wagner: -1 (2 votes lost, 1 newcomer)
McGriff: -3 (4 votes lost, 1 newcomer)

Other than Chipper Jones and the two steroid brothers, Lou Whitaker belongs before any of them.

I'd add Mussina and Schilling over Whitaker. But I agree that he should be in. I'll be interested to see if they put him on the Modern Era ballot in two years, now that Morris and Trammell are off. Problem is, I feel those two got in because they got so close on the BBWAA ballot, while Whitaker was one and done.
