Hit by pitches on the hand

Holy hell... I've never seen anything like this.

Just in the past couple days. Springer, Frazier and now JD. JD and Frazier in their first games with their new club. Trea Turner just before that. Freddie Freeman just before him.

I know this has always happened, but it's been on a regular basis. Unbelievable.

With broken bones that's somewhat normal. It's evolutionary thing to scurry off while the big bad has his finger, toe or whatever.

In college summer ball, I fractured my wrist on a 90 MPH fastball running in on my hands, where I did exactly what Frazier did today. Started, and then held up my swing.

It did not feel good, but I also used to crowd the shit out of the plate. Which in hindsight hurt me from a hitting standpoint as well. So, basically... fuck me.

When I was like 13, my dad ran over my foot. Surprisingly, I was fine too.

I played against Jeff Locke in high school. I was 16, had never seen anything remotely close to 96 MPH, and coming from a lefty. I did not shit my pants.
