LOL!!!

Florida will only play the game at a cost of one home game and 1.5 million dollars for LSU

no one said it is more revenue, a home game is a home game......but you keep going on :thumb:
Okay, I'll admit you didn't say "not about more revenue" if you will admit you said "its all about revenue not about softening the schedules"...see below.

Hell tbj, that type of scheduling is okay. Your aqua lizards aren't the only ones doing it. It is wide spread. And as long as there are no consequences for such, it is smart scheduling.

What isn't okay is the ruse of trying to hide behind the real reason it is done. No matter how much the blind homers try to rationalize it instead of admitting it, the purpose for doing such is solely "softening the schedule" at a certain point in the season to break up a difficult stretch. Bye weeks later in the year are for the same purpose. It is funny as hell to me that homers won't admit it. Hell, they are more likely to admit it when their team sucks than to admit they scedule late season cupcakes to get a break in a tough stretch of the schedule.
:stephena:its all about revenue not about softening schedules....and its still a dumb fucking argument. what does the order of the games matter still have to play them all wether they are in september or novemeber.

It seems to be more common now to schedule late season patsies than say 15 years ago, so has anybody researched it to see when it started to become the norm, and what school led the way?

IIRC, it was to adapt to maximize the BCS system by reducing the chances of having a late November loss. It isn't supposed to matter with the CFP committee. But it still appears a loss late in the year punishes a team more than one early does. But, we only have two years of data so far.

The SEC has more than enough money to buy out the 2 cream puffs at the end of the year. Play the game then. Problem solved, as many posters have suggested...

But it seems to have started as more of an SEC thing, since most other conferences had the same added game and yet don't seem to have as many late season cupcakes. Just wondered who and where the pattern started?

Well, it ain't just LSU and Florida. Only 8 of the 14 SEC schools. Tennessee, Missouri, Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss State and Arky must not have gotten the memo from SEC headquarters.

Nov 19 opponents
Presbyterian, UL Lafayette, Austin Peay, Western Carolina, Chattanooga, Alabama A&M, South Alabama, UTSA

Agree the SEC should have some kind of insurance policy for this, let the two cupcakes play each other then let lsu and fla play that day...everybody gets a game and money is still given to the schools

LOL at desperately trying to deflect from the FACT that UF did EXACTLY the same thing LSU did under the same circumstances.

Honestly, I'd rather play it the first week of December. That was done before and that way everybody gets the full 12 games so we have a level basis for comparison. Yes the SECC game might need to be pushed back a week. So what? It can be done and has been done before. There simply is no need for all the drama nor is there some absolute need that the game take place this weekend in the midst of a natural disaster.

Mostly this has been driven by shit stirring attention whores in the media and by a lot of not very intelligent - and rather gullible - people on message boards.

I feel like playing in December is what they should do

Move the SEC championship a week later if Florida/LSU impacts it, SEC championship could be a night game on CBS as a double header with Navy/Army

I would not have an issue with that at all.. That way everybody gets to keep their home game revenue...

UF is currently pushing to move the SECCG to February 12. I don't see that happening.

Yeah nevermind the blocked roads, the evacuees filling all the hotels, the downed power lines and those still without power or the fact that no cops or EMTs are available because they sort of have their hands full. Nope. Let's give them all the middle finger because, Football.

I see you're new to America

We have a more recent reference.

2005...Hurricane Rita

LSU and Tennessee agreed to move the game to Monday.

That's how adults work things out.

We played y'all on Dec 5 when y'all had a hurricane, you can show us the same courtesy. Note that we didn't whine and pitch a fit about it.
