I realize I'm talking to myself. But still. Have we ever had a CF who could make that kind of throw which Gomez just did?

more than one person on Twitter was saying that a bad missed strike call changed the dynamic of the entire first inning.

ARLINGTON - Next up for pitcher Cole Hamels is another appearance for the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders.

He is scheduled to be on the mound Wednesday for a 12:05 p.m. game when Midland visits.

Hamels has been on the disabled list since May 2. He felt pain in his right oblique muscle warming up for a start against the Houston Astros. He last pitched in a game on April 26. The original diagnosis for Hamels included eight weeks on the disabled list.

Hamels threw in a bullpen session at Globe Life Park on Sunday.

The Rangers hope Hamels will throw as many as 75 pitches against Midland. If all goes well, he could be activated soon after. If not, there could be another rehab start in Hamels' future.

In a rehab start at Frisco last week, Hamels went three shutout innings. He threw 35 pitches and allowed only one hit while striking out three. He then threw 22 more pitches in the bullpen to further build stamina.

"We'll see how far he gets stretched out," manager Jeff Banister said, looking ahead to Wednesday. "He might be able to get to the bank of pitches that stretches him out and gets him ready to go. It's all predicated on how each day goes...

"So far he has felt good through the entire process. That's a plus," Banister added.

Good call, forgot about Martin

Yeah, me too. And now that he's been brought up, he probably had the best arm of anyone. Way to go DT.

I remember Beniquez being great with the glove and I believe he had a very good arm as well. His first year here he played in 129 games in the OF and had 18 assists.

Speaking of Juan Beniquez, he is another example of a guy who came up as a middle infielder and who was very successfully converted to an outfielder. He became a Gold Glove outfielder.
