Not a Seahawks topic, but a Seattle topic. This heat wave is brutal. Also how about all that smog from the Canadian wildfires.

Ironically the smoke is keeping the temperature cooler.

Don't get a lot of heat waves like this. How long has it been since we have had any rain? A long time, might be a record.

Put out your fires, dang it.

It should worry the fuck out of us all when places like NORTHERN BC are on fire. They're traditionally not much drier than Seattle.

Yeah some weird ass weather going on. Earlier Seattle set a record for rain fall, followed by a record for no rain fall.
What the heck is going on with all the wildfires in BC? Must be close to a record.

I think it's just more of the same shit. Last year in the summer, it was Northern Alberta on fire.

In this day and age you'd think the world would unite to put these fires out. They are polluting the planet.

The world DID unite to help with the fires last year. Amazing stories of compassion and people helping others. I'm not positive exactly what the BC reaction is this year, because we don't cover BC as much as more local news. But I suspect it's the same, fire-fighters from all over pitching in to save communities and lives.

In Fort Mac last year, some firefighters didn't sleep for days on end.

Pretty incredible pictures.

Biggest natural disaster (in dollar figures) in Alberta history.

It was pretty smokey last year in the Inland NW too. Bunch of early season high school football games got cancelled and there was talk of moving early season college ball games as well.

I remember that very well. I have Aunt and Uncle in Fort Mac (dad's side) and no one could reach my aunt to see if she got the hell out

The weirdest thing about this heat wave is where it's been getting the hottest. Obviously places south of, say, Olympia and east of Seattle towards the foothills have been seeing triple digits a lot this year, but even places on the Washington coast have seen upper 90's temps. Even Forks almost hit triple digits last week and it's the wettest place in the lower 48 states.

The dry streak is gonna be in the mid 50's before the forecast even gives us a chance of rain this weekend, but the weird thing is... even though it hasn't rained here in nearly two months, it rained so much in the first five months of the year that we're still almost 9 inches ahead of normal. We've gone from one extreme to the other. It's supposed to cool down into the 70's (finally) this weekend, but who knows how long that'll last.

What really sucks is that I have two grills..... one is a smoker (Traeger) and the other is charcoal. Both are banned from being used as of right now. My wife & I bought steaks (a couple days ago) to cook tonight
