Great trade by the Hawks. Not game changing, but they got well more than fair value for a 2nd round pick. It also opens them up for another potential move today that could include Nick Leddy.

His sweede brothers hammer and oduya cant hurt. Its gonna hurt if they move leddy, it just seems to me a guy like Pirri would have been a better trade piece if they are going after Kessler today. There arent many D men that can carry the puck net to net on a powerplay.

Yess, good call, forgot about that factor. I like Leddy, a lot. Nice puck-moving defensemen, who like you said, end to end and can carry the puck. With more PP time on a team that needs the help, he can put up bigger numbers. Wonder if he gets moved?

I dont know, if Morin is not up for tomorrows game against Columbus it might be because he was part of a deal. I really dont see anyone ready to step up to Leddys spot on the roster. Rundblad basically is another Kostka trying to break into the 6th defender. Cant see Leddy going for Kessler and creating that hole, but its gonna take alot to get him. I would rather see more picks moved for Ladd again.

Pierre LaBrun reports today that the Blackhawks have NO interest in trading for Ryan Kessler.

We had enough to add to this team with Pirri, Morin and Clendening. Pirri was given away, who knows when we see the others. At least there is a shot we see someone come up like Ben smith did in 2010-11 playoffs.
