The SEC West is currently 6-2 against the SEC East if my math is correct.

Vandy's fault?!?

Yeah, Gruden is NOT coming out of the booth for a college reclamation job. How long have we been hearing that he and Bill Cowher are going to take such-and-such a job "any second now?"

It's just people being lazy with their shit. They see coaching job open, and then always throw out the same 3-5 names and they never get hired in the end.

Tressel's seems to be out of vogue these past few years, at least.

Maybe UT should call him

Ugh, the SEC West isn't much better. Every team except Alabama and Miss State has lost at least one OOC game. At least the SEC East represented the SEC somewhat well OOC: South Carolina > NC State, Tenn > Ga Tech, Georgia > Notre Dame, Vandy > Kansas State.
Very fair point, but you still have to go through Bama.

Always names that have zero chance as well. Even if they fire Butch now they will still botch the hire. It seems like clockwork.

You have to play defense in the SEC, not sure Kelly would understand that, he hasn't anywhere else he's been.

Actually Oregon had good defenses under Kelly but they were undersized which is why good Smashmouth teams always blew him out.

Dude that's way too much effort for something that isn't making fun of someone else, just saying.

Not realistically sure who they could hire at this point. There doesn't seem to be many options among the G5 candidates, but they've gone that way the last 2 times and it's failed pretty miserably. Can they pull off getting an up and comer at a current G5 school? Do they try and get an NFL assistant? Do they try and get somebody out of the booth(that isn't Gruden)? Ken Niumatalolo is a fantastic coach, but would Tennessee be willing to run the triple option? I don't see why more power programs don't go that route, especially when you're in a recruiting hot bed and can get good defensive players. Paul Johnson has been really good at Ga Tech and they certainly don't recruit near the level Tennessee has the potential too.

Niumatalolo would be a fantastic hire at Nebraska IMO.

Your post was going well until I saw this in bold.

I would doubt TN would try to convert to a triple option...they haven't have problems finding QBs...Davis has done well overall recruiting, but it's not showing up on the field which is why Davis will/should be fired after this season.

GA Tech/P Johnson...every 2 or 3 seasons coach Johnson has a good crop that will win 9+ games and go to a weak bowl. I don't think they're going to win the ACC too often and have a real shot at a playoff berth.

I'm a Tennessee alumnus, and I do not support hiring Gruden to be head football coach.

Hopefully, UT won't shove a $12 million buyout buttplug up their own ass.
