Reportedly has a contract for 5 years and just over $51M, $28M guaranteed with a $10M signing bonus. I know there's mixed feelings about the careers of ex-ND players, but I say good for him. He'll reportedly be the highest paid safety in the league.

I always liked Harrison Smith. He played his first two years out of position as an outside linebacker. Once they moved him to safety, he came into his own.

Yep. It was frustrating. Still I was amazed he ended up going in the first round. But he has made a lot of plays in Minn.

He never impressed me at ND. He's been a stud for Minn though. As a Bears fan it kinda pains me Minnisota has so many ND players I really have to cheer for them.

He went from would be goat to hero of the USC '10 game. Also think his single best performance was the Sun Bowl.

He never impressed me at Notre Dame either, thought Zbikowski would be the one playing in the NFL, but he's been real solid in Minnesota. Good for him, glad to see it.

To be fair I was shocked. He is a good safety but not a great safety.

I always liked him at ND. Probably because he was from Tennessee, and I knew a kid that went to school with him. I used to get into big debates regarding him on the ESPN boards. I'm glad he's doing well (although some say we shouldn't care about them once they leave ND), and have to say that I actually started being a Vikings fan after they got Smith, Carlson, Sullivan, Rudolph, and Blanton.

His numbers the last 3 seasons have been pretty impressive. And he doesn't have that much help back there.

Not to be the top paid safety in the league.

He had literally no talent outside of Te'o around him. Remember some of those Weis classes on Defense? They were MAC-level talent.

I think he's one of the better safeties in the league and I would be happy to have in San Fran. Sure he's making big money maybe he isn't worth it but who is work millions and millions really. At the end of the day it's good for Notre Dame to have players doing well in the NFL. Other schools can't say they aren't putting guys in the NFL and not having success once they get there.
