I do a half and half....

80/20 lean ground beef with and the other 50 is ground sausage,
I blend in my seasonings, pepper, salt, garlic, onion powder,
then mix in bacon bites, minced of course.

Now I chill my patties for about two hours before grilling,
that seasoning mix just coats the patties really well while chilling...

That sounds pretty damn good if you ask me.

It's not bad, and I get no complaints.....

If you want to really make it interesting, instead of making patties,
you can make beer can burgers with the mixture,
wrap bacon around the outer part of the burger can and you can throw cheese chunks in the center...

1 thing I didn't mention is that when we make our patties, we try to work them the least amount as possible. Make sure they are compact enough to stay together, but don't work the patties a bunch, otherwise they start to turn into a hockey puck.

I actually freeze mine a little after making them while the grill is heating up to help them stay together before putting them on the grill when we do thinner patties(good for double cheese).

I do the same thing with the freezer to keep them together. I'll also put a batch of meatballs into the freezer before frying them for the same reason.

Well yeah, but it's this fancy ass spread you can make to put on burgers,
tried a few years back, some deli I went to had it, on their sandwiches and I thought it sounded gross,
but I tried it one day and the stuff was addicting

Every now and then, when I'm feeling frisky, I will fine chop one piece of raw bacon and mix it right in with the raw burger. A piece per burger.

Bacon in every bite, without hurting yer teeth or making yer burger a giant mess. It's pretty dang good.

80/20 beef. Shake in some McCormick hamburger seasoning. Add a couple drops of liquid smoke.

Also, toast the buns on the grill after the burgers cook.

Wife don't like anything but a plain burger. 80/20 formed loosely, grill on high for a minute or so each side, put on some salt and turn down. when close to being done I put on pepper and when done I put on cheese and turn off grill. Let set for a minute and throw it on an onion bun with red onion slice (for me) and regular mustard. Wife puts a tad of ketchup on as well.
