I'm mostly an acoustic/rhythm player. I have an old beat up Yamaha classical that plays nice and quiet, a bottom of the line Martin acoustic, a great value in a 12-string Washburn, and a MexiStrat that I almost never play, but I like to use it to play the more Johnny Cash like version of "Hurt". I don't play lead. Early Springsteen, Eagles, Stones, Beatles, Dead (got tickets for when they come to town), and I'm in the rotation to play in my church worship band (Chris Tomlin, Third Day, Crowder, Casting Crowns, et al).

No. It was the first guitar I bought for my son, and I can still remember how his eyes
totally bugged out. He has moved on and is a really good amateur player. Too much sentimental value, and I don't need the money or anything.

Cool. Some of those MexiStrats are really great, though. You should jam on it more.

Would like to, but what I love most is to sing. I'm not all that good, but it's such an emotional release. I dig the poetry of a well-written song, and being able to dig deep into the emotions involved.

I'm into playing the same genre. I member when I first started it was all about gain, distortion, power chords, jamming with friends, making the walls rattle. Palm muting, speed, noise, that's for rooks.

I only play with my acoustic lately. Don't like power chords and don't play dropped D anymore - so many pretty shapes and fills that could be used with standard tuning. Haven't touched the Les Paul in months. When I do play electric, it's more of a David Gilmore-ish sound that I like to use my fake-statocaster on. I have an old classical acoustic that gets a lot of work and an old ibanez acoustic that's on its last leg.

On my list of top ten regrets in life is that I wish I would have learned the piano.

I used to play guitar (25 years); mostly solo jazz guitar. Now, I play various keyboards and synthesizers.
