Very nice. I've never played one of those.
It has a pretty rich and robust sound. It's harder to press down the strings than a Taylor but easier than a Martin. Stevie Raye Vaughan's 12 string version of Pride And Joy has made me pine for a 12 string but I can't rationalize spending the money on it.

Have a Les Paul. Used to like to jam with lots of distortion. I graduated to finger picking on an acoustic. Hardly ever plug in at all anymore.

Is anyone here an axe man?

Been running a chorus pedal, into a distortion pedal, into a Tube Screamer, into a smallish practice amp. Getting an awesome tone with the distortion pedal blasted and the Tube Screamer set low gain to dampen the distortion pedal.

Try that shit. Awesome.

Ha...knew you'd be the distorted type.

When I was in my teens - "ALL OF THE GAIN!!!"

When I was in my 20's - "Up the gain, but let's try to push the mids through."

In my 30's - "I either want acoustic, blues overdrive, or go fuck yourself."

Yeah, my ears went bad, too. :)

I can play a few basic chords on a guitar, but the first instrument I ever picked up was a fiddle, and that's what I've mostly always played. I'm not Charlie Daniels or anything, but I'm pretty good at sawing an old bluegrass or honky tonk number. I was once asked to join a bluegrass band with some dudes I went to high school with, but it would have pretty much been a full time job, and I prefer playing honky tonk to bluegrass. They still tour around the south and make a pretty good living at it. And won the Alabama Bluegrass Idol contest a couple years back.

I can also play the mandolin since it is basically a fiddle with frets that you pick, but I'm not near as smooth.

Here's the band I turned down.

Yeah. Now I'm in my 40's. So pick it up. Dust it off. Tune it in. Butcher a couple of chords and hang it back up again.

Holy fuck am I glad I didn't grow in the South.

While you're up yonder, tell Neil Young to give Hank Williams Sr's old Martin D-28 to the HOF where it belongs.

I went to a Hank Jr concert about a month ago, and he had one of Waylon's old guitars that he played a few songs with. While cool to see my hero that I never got to see live's old guitar in action, I couldn't help but think it should be on display,
