Did you see Junior on the sideline of his kid's bowl game? He is huge...in a Montero kind of way. Even the announcers were chuckling about it making comments. Just wow!

LMAO! I was gonna make a thread regarding Griffey, but rather for his son. Imagine if Trey were o end up in Seattle, how odd would that be?

He was starting to pack on the pounds later on in his career as well. He wasn't exactly in the best shape during his last two years playing for the Mariners.

Carrying all that weight was tiring and he had to take naps during games.

And this picture is stretched length wise making him look thinner. Live shot even had my wife go. 'Wow, what happened to him?'. LOL

Didn't need it. The Kid was a natural a la Babe Ruth.

And it ultimately ended up hurting him in his 30s with all the injuries he had...former teammates and coaches said he often neglected the weight room and team stretching before games.

I was going to say that but decided not to in order to not spoil any kids dream of Jr. i.e. like telling them about how Santa may not be real. :noidea:

Well I think everyone can agree to his lack of taking care of his body and playing 150% on the shitty Kingdome Astroturf let to his injuries instead of the bunk lumping of him into the steroid conversation.

No steroids for sure. And agree with Dome turf taking years off his playing life, but working out would have helped combat some of that. Still enjoyed his first tour with us. Nothing like it.
