Unbelievable. This kid had so much talent, it's heartbreaking to see where he is versus where he could have been. At this point, we can just hope and pray that he survives and puts his life together. He's so young that football may still be an option, but first he has to pull through this.

I just read he was dead on an AP release. Hopefully that is the false reporting you heard, but they mentioned his coach at UAB talking about it so who knows.

The reporting is all over the place on this. UAB coaches were saying he's dead. Local news says he's hanging on. A cousin tweeted that he's brain dead (which if true means it's only a matter of time). Awful awful news. Tony Alford also tweeted out that he passed

Okay. One local station said he's still in critical condition, another said he died. These reports were literally within minutes of each other. Media needs to get its shit together.

Edit- minutes after posting, the local fox station says critical condition.

So local NBC and fox stations say he's alive, local ABC station says he died.

Latest I heard (not from news sources) is he was on life support so family could say goodbye. He was taken off life support this morning. Sad story and prayers for him and his family.

They did an absolute terrible job. Per my post above the three local stations (I didn't see CBS's reporting on it) were all over the place. They each ran the story within minutes of each other. Fox and NBC reported him in critical, ABC said he was dead. Probably some confusion that he was being kept alive led people to report he was critical, but they said he was shot in the head and family members were tweeting last night that he was brain dead. So he was being kept alive only it sounds like not because there was anything they could do but to say goodbye.

Don't know all the details but his passenger was not the most savoriest of characters. I think when all is said and done, those bullets were meant for his passenger and Bryant just was in the wrong place at the wrong time and probably should have steered clear of people like this.

Tragic, the kid really should have stayed away from these sorts of characters.
