I always loved the song Evergreen she did. Mostly because my Mom liked it. I was about 7 when I heard it while we were visiting my Aunt in Evergreen Colorado. Always remember all the trees there and the smell of that place when I first heard this song (and the name Evergreen) Kinda rainbow worthy, but whatever...

Different strokes I guess.

I'm not a fan of pop at all, and her voice is nails on a chalkboard to me. But I'd only go in deep to troll someone like Oscar,

He's pretty much the reason why Country music sucks today. There were those that infused pop into their music and called themselves country before him, but ultimately true Country music always won out, but when Garth came around it let fags like Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney know it was ok to be a pop singer and call yourself Country. There were enough of the true Country singers around to keep it alive through most of the 90's, but that was pretty much the death of Country music with the exception of a few singers you won't hear on the radio. Waylon Jennings is my hero, and this is what he had to say about Garth Brooks:

"Garth Brooks did for Country music what panty hose did for finger fuckin."

I don't even include him in my top 20 country singers from Yukon, Oklahoma.

He's as fake as you can get in Country music.

I'm adding Patti Smith to the group... not for her singing "acumen" or lack thereof, or somewhat limited vocal range....but rather for her raw energy, emotion and poignancy in many, if not most of her tunes. She ain't too shabby at songwriting either.
I just felt like she was being overlooked and needed a mention.

Can't say much for their whole body of work, but I love this song (Johnette Napolitano):

IMHO Carrie Underwood is the greatest female vocalist since Ann Wilson who was the greatest since Janice Joplin. What say you and why?
My favorite Carrie Underwood video:
