By not playing on the middle sunday tmr due to all the rain today which probably just ended the tournament of all the men who didn't get to start/complete their match today. Now you will have to win 3 consecutive best of 5 matches before getting a day off.

Yeah it is dumb. Now all the guys who play tmr would need to win 3 best of 5 matches on 3 straight days in order to get to the SF. Absolutely ridiculous

It's definitely secondary citizens out there, only the elite who get to play under the roof get to finish their matches and get some rest.

They need to get court 1 a roof also. Having 1 roof is pointless

While I agree that I would prefer to have the middle Sunday, to allow for more flexibility in the schedule, I also believe that these are the best athletes in the world. Often times they can play for 3-5 hours one day, then come back the next day, and if they're really better, still win.

The Australian Open, for example, has split day SFs, but just because one man might have the 2nd SF and play a long match, doesn't stop him from winning the Finals. These guys can recover.

It is tricky though because normally all 16 combined men's and women's 4th round matches are played on the 2nd Monday, but now they will have to play some 3rd round matches instead. It's already a busy day if they had to do just the 4th round, but now it's more difficult.

The extra day should be used for makeups. They could even allow more people to be introduced to the game by only selling tickets at the gate and at half price. Maybe even let kids under 18 in free. This would be a much better promotion.


They would only need to use a few courts and could do repairs on all the others that day too. Week 2 there are only 16 matches left plus some dubs and mixed dubs. Don't need to use all the courts anymore so they remaining courts can be fixed afterwards.
