i love geoff baker since he got promoted.

he writes truth now because he's no longer beholden to the sports establishment for not ruffling too many feathers.

i hope to see him as a featured columnist someday.

I have actually enjoyed him for years. He is pretty cocky when you talk to him in person, but tells it like it is in his articles.

So from the sounds of it, Melky is the guy we should have signed. It would have negated this info for next season, pushing our payroll up into the top half of the league while providing a corner outfielder with a .300+ BA.

All of that in front of me, I would have given him the extra year. Whether or not he takes the deal at that point or not is still a question though.
