------------------------------------

Season Series:
This is the second of four season meetings. In the first, Boston rebounded from its shootout loss in the "Thanksgiving Showdown" to beat Winnipeg the next day, 4-2, behind two goals from Chris Kelly.

------------------------------------

Big Story:
Can anyone slow down the Boston Bruins? A 3-1 victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Pittsburgh Penguins Monday night gives the B's a 14-0-1 record in their past 15 games. Winnipeg recently clawed their way to .500 following two straight wins – the most recent a 4-2 defeat of New Jersey on Saturday night – and will be looking to pounce on a Boston team playing its third game in four days.

------------------------------------

Team Scope

------------------------------------

Bruins:
While Boston has been outstanding for over a month, goalie Tim Thomas has been downright otherworldly over that same span. Thomas is in the midst of a career-high 10-game win streak, and he seems to be getting hotter as he goes along. His season-high 45 saves Monday included at least seven during 3:10 of Penguins 5-on-3 power play.

"Our penalty killers did a great job … all of them," said Thomas, a sentiment echoed by his teammates. "That was big. The game could have totally changed momentum and they could have ended up winning the game."

Though he was denied his fourth road shutout of the season when Matt Cooke scored a late wrister, Thomas improved to 7-1-0 away from home.

Jets:
Following a 1-0 shutout of the Phoenix Coyotes, Winnipeg logged another strong performance against New Jersey for their fifth win in six home games. Seven of the Jets' 11 wins have come on home ice this season. Evander Kane scored 2 goals for a Jets team looking to continue its success at the MTS Centre, where they will play 12 of the 14 games on their December schedule.

Perhaps the most encouraging sign for Winnipeg was its ability to preserve a one-goal lead despite a late Devils onslaught.

"It's good to see when you are holding on to those one-goal leads in the third period," said Mark Stuart, who scored the game-winner with seven minutes to play. "It shows that your team is learning how to win. If you look at the best teams in the League, they get up by one or two goals, they shut the door, and that's it."

------------------------------------

Who's Hot:
Though he didn't score against Pittsburgh, David Krejci was a dangerous presence all night and had 2 goals and 6 assists in his previous three games. … Kane has 6 goals in five games for the Jets, and has recorded at least a point in eight of nine.

------------------------------------

Injury Report:
Boston is healthy. … Wingers Eric Fehr (shoulder) and Nik Antropov (undisclosed) as well as defender Ron Hainsey (lower body) are questionable for the game against Boston. Aaron Gagnon (undisclosed), Derek Meech (lower body), Tobias Enstrom (broken collarbone), Randy Jones (right ankle) and Brett Festerling (upper body) are all on injured reserve.

------------------------------------

Stat Pack:
As if the Jets needed more reason to hope for a reincarnation of Dale Hawerchuk, Boston has been outscoring opponents at a torrid pace. The Bruins own a 66-27 advantage over the 15-game points streak, including 17-7 over the past four games.

------------------------------------

Puck Drop:
"We don't know how we're going to win every night. We're going to do it different ways with different guys, but all of us together at the same time. It's been pretty nice to be a part of this team the last month." – Goaltender Tim Thomas on Boston's streak

------------------------------------

I'll actually be on for this one. Our upcoming games can definitely make this streak grow... But thats usally how it ends, against a shitty team.

Jets, Panthers, Blue Jackets, Kings, Senators, Flyers.

As long as they are still a point behind and the Bruins don't go ahead by 2 more points is fine by me.

Lesser of two evils in this case.

Well I look at it this way. There is no way in hell the Leafs, or the Sabres for that matter, are going to catch the Bruins this year. I'll cheer for them if it mean keeping a team behind us from getting points.

If the Sabres keep losing players to injury and win 1 game out of evey 6 they play, then I will still seek comfort in watching the Bruins lose. :D
