This unexpected 4-game sweep over SF with starters Eflin, Nola, Pivetta, and Velasquez is more than we felt possible. And we have Arrieta going tomorrow against the scuffling Mutts! Is this a decent 5-man rotation, or not? Still, much to be proven but I’m liking it. It also eases the pain of Sunday’s 9th inning, best forgotten heart breaker in WSH.

The Phils are now 4-4 in Velasquez’s starts. Vinnie’s 6 inning, 5 hit, 12 K effort against a quality Giants team is worth drinking to. Plus he’s 1.80 in his last two starts. We’re in fine shape if he can stay consistent.

Very good exciting also to witness Santana’s wicked 3-run homer to put the Phils on top 4-3.

I thought it was funny watching on Facebook and so many people with mlb extra innings were complaining because they paid the subscription and weren't getting the game. Mlb extra innings has never been anywhere near 100% coverage.

We are a half game behind the Muts and have a winning steak of 4 games. I hope this becomes habit and as Northeast has pointed out, the Phillies have stopped swinging for the fences and are just going for OBP with meeting the ball and settling for singles, doubles. Looks a lot like Money Ball. This is beginning to get really fun to watch.
