The kids seems tough, but too many hard hits without sliding will shorten a career.
I assume he was afraid of an interception, but even intentional grounding may have been better.

Heck, even one hard enough hit could knock this kid out. I would much rather him get an intentional grounding call as opposed to getting hits lights knocked out and possibly fumbling the ball
