Nuggets vs. Jazz - Box Score - October 18, 2017 - ESPN

MVP1: Ricky Rubio - 10 assists accounted for 20 points, plus 9 points, plus 5 rebounds.
MVP2: Joe Ingles - 11 points, 6 assists (12 points), and 5 rebounds.
HM3: Rudy Gobert - 18 points, 1 assist (2 points), and 10 rebounds. Blocks underwhelming though altered shots and offenses staying away from him is beneficial. 6 turnovers disappointing.
HM4: Derrick Favors - 14 points, 4 assists, and four rebounds
HM5: Donovan Mitchell: Didn't shoot well, but still managed double figures, dished the ball out four times, played defense (block and steal), had a great +/- (+22), and as a rookie, given the tiebreaker.
HM6: Joe Johnson - 13 points vs Burks 16, but more assists and rebounds.
HM7: Alec Burks: Simply playing and not getting injured should give him a mention. Just kidding. 16 points off the bench is a good contribution.

Jazz vs. Timberwolves - Box Score - October 20, 2017 - ESPN

1. MVP1: Ricky Rubio - 19 points, 10 assists, and 5 rebounds? Yeah, that's MVP.
2. MVP2: Rodney Hood - 20 points and 4 assists.
3. HM3: Favors: Had a chance to be MVP with the game winner, but way off and then a turnover.
4. HM4: Gobert - Couldn't put him lower but more ehh than ahh.
5. HM5: Joe Ingles - Dependable, but not as good as the Game Opener.
6. HM6: Sefolosha - Good contribution off the bench.
7. HM7: Udoh - Good defense - 3 blocks.

Thunder vs. Jazz - Box Score - October 21, 2017 - ESPN

Difficult.

1. Rudy Gobert - Tempted to give Rubio the third in a row, but Ricky's 6 turnovers, poor shooting, and Rudy's 3 offensive rebounds are three strikes. Plus, I assume defensively Gobert is contributing more than his numbers.
2. Joe Ingles - Yeah, I know. It doesn't make sense to deliberate between Ricky and Rudy, but then give the second spot to someone else than the runner up. Oh well. Shot well, defended well.
3. Ricky Rubio - Still, 16 points and >5 assists and rebounds each is good.
4. Derrick Favors - Box Score check at half suggested Favors contributed most to their halftime lead. Counts for something.
5. Donovan Mitchell - 6 assists! But mostly, Westbrook did poorly, was he Mitchell's guy?
6. Joe Johnson - 12 points off the bench and got rebounds and defenses
7. Alec Burks - Did more and shot better than Sefolosha.

Jazz vs. Clippers - Box Score - October 24, 2017 - ESPN

1. MVP1: Rubio, 10 points, 5 Assists, 5 rebounds, 1 Steal - More all around than Mitchell and shot better with fewer turnovers.
2. MVP2: Mitchell, 19 Points, 1 Assist, 1 Steal, 2 Rebounds - Didn't shoot well and had 4 turnovers, but it's his 4th professional game. Putting him first because he scored most on too many shots seemed too defaultish. Putting him above Gobert because his Rookie-Status gives him some benefit of the doubt and the infamous =/- is (-26 for Gobert) versus (-5 for Mitchell).
3. HM3: Gobert, 12 Points, 3 Blocks, 7 Rebounds, 5-5 shooting.
4. HM4: Sefolosha, 11 Points, 12 Rebounds, 4-7 shooting, Double-Double.
5. HM5: Johnson, 10 Points, 2 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Rebound, 4-6 shooting.
6. HM6: Burks, 7 Points, 3 Assists, 4 Rebounds, but didn't shoot well.
7. HM7: Favors, 6 Points, 2 Assists, 3 Rebounds - Would have put him higher if he had more rebounds.

Jazz vs. Suns - Box Score - October 25, 2017 - ESPN

1. MVP1: Rubio, 15 Points, 11 Assists(!), 4 Steals(!) outweigh the 7 Turnovers and poor shooting. I know it's not important, but the only positive +/-.
2. MVP2: Gobert, 16 Points, 5 Blocks, 14 Rebounds - Simply did more than Hood's 22 points.
3. HM3: Hood, 22 Points, 2 Assists, 1 Rebound, and not too bad shooting.
4. HM4: Favors, 15 Points, 7 Rebounds, 1 Assist.
5. HM5: Ingles, 11 points, 3 Steals, 6 Rebounds.
6. HM6: None. Positives by would-be 6th were outweighed by 1-7 shooting in a loss.
7. HM7: None. Positives by would-be 7th were outweighed by 1-7 shooting and turnovers in a loss.

Lakers vs. Jazz - Box Score - October 28, 2017 - ESPN

1. MVP1: Rubio, 21 Points, 4 Assists, 7 Rebounds(!), 1 Steal were more well-rounded than Mitchell and shot ok.
2. MVP2: Mitchell, 22 Points, 2 Assists, 3 Rebounds, and good shooting.
3. HM3: Ingles, 13 Points, 4 Assists, 5 Rebounds, and 3 Steals. Toss up with Favors.
4. HM4: Favors, 14 Points, 10 Rebounds, 7-11 Shooting, 1 Assist/Steal/Block each. 4 TOs by a Forward versus 0 for Ingles is worse than 5 Rebounds deficit by a Guard to a Forward. In my opinion.
5. HM5: Hood, 13 Points, 2 Assists, 3 Rebounds, good 3pt, bad overall shooting. No defense.
6. HM6: Gobert, 6 points, 3 Blocks, 8 Rebounds. No offense.
7. HM7: Sefolosha, 4 Points, 5 Rebounds, and 1 Block in a win.

Mavericks vs. Jazz - Box Score - October 30, 2017 - ESPN

1. MVP1: Gobert, 17 Points, 6 Blocks, 6 Assists(!), 12 Rebounds, 2 Steals. Any questions?
2. MVP2: Rubio, 20 Points, 6 Assists, 4 Steals(!), and 2 rebounds on good shooting is more than Hood's 5 more points.
3. HM3: Hood, 25 Points, 3 Rebounds, 1 Assist.
4. HM4: Ingles, 6 Assists, 3 Steals, 3 Points, poor shooting. No offense, but facilitator and defense.
5. HM5: Favors, 10 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Steal. Poor shooting. Average offense.
6. HM6: Sefolosha, 11 Points, 5-9 shooting, 2 Rebounds, no turnovers.
7. HM7: Mitchell, 8 Points off the bench on OK shooting, 2 Steals, 1 Assist, 1 Rebound.

Crazy good game when 25 points and good shooting gets you third place.

Trail Blazers vs. Jazz - Box Score - November 1, 2017 - ESPN

1. MVP1: Mitchell, 28 Points, 3 Assists, 6 Rebounds, I value two more assists more than 2 more points. Plus 1 more rebound. Ok shooting considering the three point shots were high (10).
2. MVP2: Rubio, 30 Points, 1 Assist, 5 Rebounds.
3. HM3: Gobert, 16 points, 3 Blocks, 10 Rebounds, 1 Assist, good shooting.
4. HM4: Sefolosha, 15 points, 3 Steals, 9 Rebounds, 2 Assists. Close, but tie goes to starter. Benefit of the doubt goes to reserve.
5. HM5: Ingles, 7 Points, 5 Assists, 2 Blocks, and 8 Rebounds.
6. HM6: Jerebko, 8 Points, 7 Rebounds, and 2 Assists, 2-3 from Downtown.
7. HM7: Favors, 5 Points and 5 Rebounds.

3. HM3: Gobert, 15 Points, 2 Blocks, 7 Rebounds, good shooting, only one turnover,
4. HM4: Hood, 17 Points, 1 Assist, 3 Rebounds, but 3 Turnovers. Need more well-roundedness and better shooting.
5. HM5: Rubio, 13 Points, 3 Assists, 1 Steal - More assists, but 4 TOs and worse shooting < Hood.
6. HM6: Favors, 8 Points, 7 Rebounds, 2 Steals, and 1 Block.

Jazz vs. Rockets - Box Score - November 5, 2017 - ESPN

1. MVP1: Mitchell, 17 Points, 4 Assists, 4 Rebounds, OK shooting, but 5 TOs.
2. MVP2: Gobert, 13 Points, 1 Assist, 5 Rebounds, and good shooting.
3. HM3: Ingles, 11 Points, 1 Assist, 2 Rebounds, 1 Steal, OK shooting, and no TOs.
4. HM4: Rubio, 10 Points, 3 Assists, 2 Rebounds, but poor shooting and 2 TOs.
5. HM5: Favors, 12 Points, 3 steals, 2 Rebounds, good shooting, and 2 TOs.
6. HM6: Burks, 10 Points, 1 Assist, 1 Steal, 3 Rebounds, OK shooting, no TOs.
7. HM7: Hood, 12 Points, 2 Assists, 1 Rebound, good shooting, but 3 TOs.

Maybe I am overweighing TOs. Bad game overall, so usually this wouldn't have 7 mentioned. But all over 10 points, 110 points scored, and some mentioned were good to OK shooting - the unmentionables killed the overall FG%.

76ers vs. Jazz - Box Score - November 7, 2017 - ESPN

1. MVP1: Gobert, 16 Points, 15 Rebounds, 3 Blocks, 2 Steals, 1 Assist, OK Shooting, Good FT%.
2. MVP2: Hood, 19 Points, 1 Assist, 1 Steal, 4 Rebounds, Poor shooting, 1 TO.
3. HM3: Rubio, 11 Points, 8 Assists, 2 Steals, 2 Rebounds, Poor shooting, 4 TOs. Like the Assists, but TOs and 8 fewer points. Worse shooting than Hood. That's hard to do some days, but especially when Hood shoots 4-14.
4. HM4: Ingles, 15 Points, 6 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Steal, Ehh Shooting.
5. HM5: Sefolosha, 8 Points, 8 Rebounds, Good Shooting(!), 2 Assists, 2 Steals, 1 Block.
6. HM6: Udoh, 8 Points, 3 Steals, 2 Rebounds.
7. HM7: None - Not giving any points for Mitchell's 3-21 shooting, despite 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 Ast/Steal/Blk effort.
