Game 5: Prediction: WVU vs. Oklahoma St.

Oklahoma St. is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma simply because their schedule thus far....shall we call it.....suspect. It still will be after this weekend. They beat Mississippi St. 21-3. That sounds like a close enough score for my taste. The games against UTSA and LAMAR don't tell me much.

The plan this week imo will be play it safe on offense. concentrate on NOT turning the ball over and let the special teams and defense play smart and keep it close. Take away the TO's last week and we are all still frustrated but not as embarrassed. I have all the respect in the world for OSU and think we are very similar in a lot of ways meaning programs. They are coming to a pissed off WVU team/fanbase. I think we play well and I think OSU might be a lil overrated.

I cant even hazard a guess, as Gold said, take away the turnovers and WVU MAY compete, turn it over a bunch, or keep giving ourselves a long field with stupid returns, and it will not even be close. HOWEVER, If as you say, Gold, that WVU plays "safe" (as in not to lose big) it will be a bloodbath, Holgorsen must coach the game he knows to stand a chance. He can not try to play Woody Hayes ball and expect to win.

Agree 100% what I mean about "safe" is work extra this week in practice with Ford (and the other guys but especially our young QB) on how its ok sometimes to throw it away, run it and slide/goOB and even take a sack from time to time and let OTool flip the field and give our defense room to work. IMO Dana should limit his playbook to alot of run plays and his best vanilla pass plays with a few shots here and there to keep their defense as honest as possible.

If our team learned ANYTHING from the rump thumping last week and can correct then we can compete.
After all, if we were THAT bad Vegas would have the spread at 30+ right?.........right?
