Why wouldn't it be a fair shake?? I would hope that Weaver/VT, Tennessee, and BMS has already had some preliminary talks about this. Assuming that there is an equal allotment of tickets and that both sides sell their allotment out, I think the payout should be the same.

VT certainly has more to gain than Tennessee financially. With Tennessee hosting over 100,000 for their homes games, what would it take for them to sign on to this game?....probably more than it would take VT...just saying.

I see what you are saying hohum, and it may end up just like that. But I would hope it wouldn't be a glaring disparity wrt the difference in payout if any at all. Virginia Tech shouldn't be "honered and grateful" that Tennessee signed on for this. UT is a great football brand, but imo it is no better than VTs if you look at the last 15 years. Virginia Tech has just as many fans/followers/supporters as the Vols ... maybe not as much $$$, the SEC, or a 100,000 seat stadium, but our people are just as passionate.

It will be interesting to see the details. I think both teams make out like a bandit no matter what.

Wow, less than 25% of the original 20mil each offer. Maybe not that simple as I have no idea what the allotment numbers would have been like under the original deal, but still...

Looks like Maryland will be without Diggs (broken leg), bad to hear for him, but I like our chances a lot more with how the last two games have gone for them

Yeah, this came out a while back. Actually the date is wrong... Sep 7, not 6

September 7th is the 2015 game. Next year seems to be September 6th (unless we're playing on Sunday on the opening weekend of the NFL).

Dang, wish it didn't get moved up since we'll have a new QB next year. Don't like the thought of his 2nd career start coming in the Horseshoe.

You're thinking of the 2015 game in Lane Stadium. They moved the 2014 game in Ohio State two weeks earlier.

Yes, you're right. Thanks for pointing that out.

It won't be the ABC primetime game as they are showing NASCAR that night.
