Maybe it's just me but I would gladly take Frost as a first year head coach here. Let him cut his teeth at Nebraska. I bet Scott could put together a great staff. It just seems like such a operateunity wasted not to hire him

I don't think most Nebraska fans have forgotten the Osborne legacy. And we've had three head coaches since then that have tried to get this program back on track. None of the three has done the job. Not one of them has had past head coaching experience at the college level. It's now been over 15 years since we've been competitive in big games (for the most part), and I honestly believe it would be unwise to have us being led by another coach without some head coaching experience.

frost isn't ready just yet.

I want to see him succeed some where else where he leaves his stamp on a school . because at oregon the last two head coaches were previous OC...it's a system. they have an identity and a plan on how to get players they need. frost isn't a difference maker it's Marotta. a qb that can run and pass. so I wanna see frost go somewhere else before he coaches at a big time school. because everyone will expect oregon like scores on offense because of what happen at oregon. that may not happen some where else

Such success hinges on the talent that you can recruit. Let's face it there are 2 teams in the pac 12 usc and Oregon. The rest of the top talent on the west coast is spread out throughout the country. So it isn't hard to have success with all the talent in your back pocket. But you still have to get the job done so to speak. Get the players there, coach Em up, and get them to execute the PlayBook which oregons playbook I'm sure can't be run just anywhere in the country.

My opinion the upside of having a first time head coach in frost outweighs the downside.

he is a young coach so I think recruits would be able to connect with him more but he would still have his players respect. I think he is very football smart, he knows both sides of the ball. I also think he would be able to put together great staff.

But it's never going to happen no matter what our booster friends say

He should have gone to CSU. It was a great opportunity...

CSU's QB and RB are seniors, but their O-line is relatively young so it's not a complete rebuild there.

Either Frost is holding out for a warm weather job, or he's waiting for the Oregon job if Helfrich has NFL plans in the next couple years.

We offered Frost 1.2 million to be OC and he turned it down.

Damn.
